Most w ould agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above
the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound & image.
There’s something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good w hen w e listen to
them. W hatever “it” is – they all seem to have “it”. Today I listened to the latest CD from singer/songw riter/guitarist
Brian Miller’s Escher’s Enigma w ho just released his latest EP entitled: ““From me to There” in 2013. Venturing to his
w ebsite I get the impression this is one artist w ho is extremely determined, dedicated and passionate about the
songw riting craft. This is actually a father son musical project. Escher’s Enigma is a project currently comprised of
father/son duo Russ and Brian Miller. They produce original acoustic pop, arena rock and contemporary rock music as
w ell as covers of classic rock and pop songs. From start to finish this EP from the Miller’s is a very entertaining musical
experience all around. It has a very w arm and inviting Pop-Folk quality to it, and even dabbles in Americana Rock. It
also reminds me of classic John Mayer, Bob Dylan, Tonic, Shaw n Mullins and Fastball. Any fans of any of these musical
styles or bands w ill enjoy this latest release from Escher’s Enigma. I can’t help but hear a bit of a David Byrne
influence in there as w ell. It’s clearly marketed for those w ho like a male folk vocal front w ith folksy-pop musicianship
in the background. I get the impression Escher’s Enigma is being true to himself as an artist via this compelling 5
track line up. In other w ords he hits the mark remarkably w ell by just by being w ho he is musically – a real soul
searcher, or one not afraid to ask the hard question. The songw riting is impressive enough and digs a bit deeper
than the next independent artist. W ithin each one of these pieces Miller bares his soul and delivers w hat I w ould call
pure musical mojo. It offers much in the w ay of a compelling/thought provoking musical landscape. The playing from
his band is spot on and just makes the w hole CD even more enjoyable. The overall vibe of the production is very
honest, sincere, passionate and captivating w ith pockets of hope shining through. I see Miller as a real undiscovered
diamond in the rough, w ith an amazing amount of potential. As time goes by w e w ill no doubt hear more from him.
Let me go on record and say Escher’s Enigma is a movie licensing deal w aiting to happen. I also w ouldn’t be
surprised to hear more of him on Prime Time Radio someday or even in a featured in film or a TV production. In close
most famous artists out there have “it” I’m not so sure w hat “it” is but Escher’s Enigma has w hatever “it” may be.
