GEOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION THE RICHARD SCHAFER COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSFER STUDENT GEOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP ($300 per year for up to TWO YEARS) CRITERIA: Applicant must have: 1. Completed a minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit at the time of enrollment at Western Illinois University, with an overall grade point average of at least a 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is an "A". 2. Completed four semester hours of geology/earth sciences at the time of enrollment at Western Illinois University, with a grade point average of at least a 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is an "A". 3. A letter of recommendation from an Earth Science faculty member from the two-year institution. 4. Transcripts from all previous institutions attended sent to WIU department of Geology. APPLICATION: Complete the attached application and send it with a copy of your transcripts and the letter of recommendation from your Earth Science faculty member to: Chairperson Department of Geology 1 University Circle Western Illinois University Macomb, IL 61455-1396 SELECTION: Final selection will be made by the Department of Geology Scholarship Committee. TERMS: The award of $300 is for the first year of enrollment at WIU. The award is then repeated for the second year of enrollment at WIU if the geology major has maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average.
