Testament period to the contemporary era.

the instructor. The instructor will notify students of any changes.
***Paper Writing Format
The paper needs to include a title page, table of contents, and a bibliography in addition to the
main contents or text and requires a minimum of ten sources. Margins for the paper need to
conform to the writing lab style guide – [the Turabian Manual 6th edition and the WBU Religion
Writing Lab Style Guide in form and documentation and use footnotes in the paper] use 12 New
Times Roman font, and double space. See model paper on Blackboard.
Course Outcome Competencies: Upon completion of course, the student is be able to:
A. Engage in theological discussion in the context of historical thought about major themes in
the Christian tradition.
B. Investigate and discover theological methods and major themes and explain the significance
of historical theology for the modern church.
C. Describe and augment basic Christian beliefs as they have developed in history.

Course Requirements:
A. ***7 page paper (35 %) Write a critical paper on a subject that intrigued you in Historical
Theology Course. Due Date Oct 22, 2015.
B. Quiz (20%)

D. Attendance & Class Participation (10%)
Late Submissions: Assignments will be accepted after their due dates only if prior permission is
obtained from the instructor. Five points will be deducted each day following the original due date of
each respective Assignment.
Attendance
Roll will be checked each class meeting.
The Division's "no cut" policy allows no unexcused absences.
No student missing more than 25% of the class meetings (including both excused and
unexcused absences) can pass the course. Students who need to leave class early
must get approval from the professor in advance.

**A grade of incomplete is changed if the deficiency is made up by midterm of the next regular
semester; otherwise, it becomes "F". This grade is given only if circumstances beyond the
student's control prevented completion of work during the semester enrolled and attendance
requirements have been met. A grade of "CR" indicates that credit in semester hours was
granted but no grade or grade points were recorded.

Changes to syllabus may occur as the class and /or instructor deem necessary.
Students should inform the instructor in case of absence from the class in advance,
unless due to dire or extraordinary circumstances [Grade penalty 5 %]. Papers
must be submitted in MLA/Turabian format. Punctuality, participation, and
productivity always attributes to the student’s performance and grade.
Academic Honesty (Plagiarism): University students are expected to conduct themselves
according to the highest standards of academic honesty. Academic misconduct for which a
student is subject to penalty includes all forms of cheating, such as illicit possession of
examinations or examination materials, forgery, or plagiarism. Plagiarism is the presentation
of the work of another as one’s own work. It is the student’s responsibility to be familiar with
penalties associates with plagiarism stated in the catalog.
