CLARK COLLEGE MEDICAL RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM ADVANCED PLACEMENT Transfer applicants requesting Advanced Placement will be reviewed and if accepted placed into the Clark radiography program on a space available basis. The program Director and Clinical Coordinator will determine the appropriate placement of the transferring applicant into the Clark radiography program. Applicants who have completed prior coursework towards their radiography education at a college other than Clark may request to transfer into the Medical Radiography Associate of Applied Science Degree program. The following criteria must be met to be eligible for consideration: • • • • • All prerequisites for admission to Clark’s Medical Radiography program have been completed with grades of C/2.0 (75%) or higher and evaluated by our Credential’s Evaluation department (see link for additional information: http://www.clark.edu/academics/programs/radiography/documents/MRADTransf erStudents.pdf All courses (radiography and general education) prerequisite to the course of entry into the radiography program must have been completed with a grade of C/2.0 (75%) or higher. Request for transfer must be made within one year of exit from previous program. The applicant left her/his previous program in good standing. Applicant is able to abide by the policies and procedures contained in the Medical Radiography Student Handbook. ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROCEDURE: 1. The applicant must submit in writing a request to transfer with a radiography application into the Medical Radiography program. • To apply to the program, complete the Clark College Application for Admission and the Medical Radiography program Statement of Intent forms. The Statement of Intent requires a $50 Health Occupations application fee (all fees subject to change). Return completed materials to the Clark College Enrollment Services department. • Submit official college transcripts from ALL college attended and send updated official transcripts each term. 2. This request must be received by the Enrollment Services department by: a. Jan 2nd for consideration into the spring quarter b. April 1 for consideration into the summer and fall quarters c. August 1st for consideration into the winter quarter. 3. The applicant will provide the following items for review by the program faculty and administration: a. A letter of recommendation from the director or Clinical Coordinator of the radiography program previously attended. b. A copy of official transcripts. c. A copy of the course syllabus and outline for all radiography courses which applicant has taken and would like to receive credit. 3. Course transcripts and syllabus will be evaluated to determine Clark course equivalency. Courses that are awarded credit must be equivalent to the Clark courses. A determination will be made regarding eligibility for acceptance into Clark’s radiography program and the applicant will be notified in writing of this decision within 40 business days. If the applicant is eligible and there is space available for the applicant to enter, the applicant will continue with the transfer procedure. ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROCEDURE CONTINUED: If the applicant is not eligible, the applicant will be informed of the reasons for lack of eligibility in writing within 15 business days after completing the transfer procedures. 4. The applicant will also be required to successfully complete a skills evaluation. The requirement for theory testing will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Clinical competency knowledge base must be demonstrated. Upon approval, the student will be notified to proceed with the transfer process which will include: a. Demonstration of knowledge base through completion of the final exam/s of the Radiography Technology course/s prerequisites to the course of requested admission. A minimum passing score of 75% is required on the exam/s. b. Demonstration of satisfactory performance of clinical competencies previously attained and minimum passing score of 75% on the Clinical Instructor evaluation form. Testing of skills will be scheduled on an individual basis. 5. After the above steps are completed within 30 business days (not counting school breaks) the applicant will be notified in writing of the decision on his/her transfer request within 15 business days. 6. All competencies and course grades that are approved will be recorded in the student’s permanent grade record. 7. At least 30 credits must be completed at Clark College to meet Academic Residency requirements. 8. All transfer procedures need to be completed by the following deadlines: a. March 15 for admission into the spring quarter b. June 1 for admission into the summer and fall quarters c. December 1 for admission into the winter quarter 9. If accepted, the applicant will follow the application process to Clark College, which includes: • • • • • • • Registering for appropriate radiography and general education courses. Criminal background check Current CPR and first aid card Current immunization and required titers Current physical examination See program checklist for details of requirements.
