STUDY ABROAD PROCEDURES A Study Abroad can only be applied for and approved while the student is enrolled at ONU. 1. The student must complete a 'Study Abroad Request' form indicating: a. Institution to be attended. b. Inclusive dates of attendance. c. Courses of desired/planned enrollment. These must be evaluated by the appropriate department chair/dean for ONU equivalencies. d. Term for return to ONU. 2. Work with his/her ONU Academic Advisor to establish a tentative schedule of classes for enrollment upon return to ONU. 3. Upon completion of registration/course selection at the other institution the student must notify his/her ONU Academic Advisor as to the courses of final enrollment. Any change in course enrollment must be reviewed by the appropriate ONU department chair/dean to determine ONU equivalency. 4. Contact his/her ONU Academic Advisor to arrange for final course selection and registration for return to ONU. 5. Contact the ONU Financial Aid Office and Residence Life Office to make necessary arrangements for return to ONU. 6. Contact the ONU Controller's Office to arrange for fee payment for return to ONU. 7. Arrange for a final official transcript to be sent directly from the Study Abroad Institution to the ONU Registrar's Office via mail (U.S.). 8. A student on a Study Abroad program immediately preceding anticipated graduation from ONU must clearly note this on the 'Study Abroad Request' form and must complete and submit an 'Application for Graduation' form before leaving the ONU campus. The diploma and any certification of graduation will be held pending receipt and evaluation of an 'Official Transcript' from the Study Abroad Institution. Credit will be recorded under the name of the 'Study Abroad' institution, with the ONU course equivalent or the title of the course as given at the 'Study Abroad' institution, as appropriate.
