Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) must be readily available for all hazardous chemicals used on campus.
Under the new Hazcom 2102 regulations, Material Safety Data sheets (MSDSs) are
being phased out and must be replaced with Safety Data sheets by June 1, 2016. ONU
has acquired ChemWatch as a chemical safety database to help our campus comply
with revised HazCom 2012 regulations, and to facilitate hazardous chemical emergency
response. Our ChemWatch subscription includes electronic access to more than 13
million vendor safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals. Links to ChemWatch and
tutorials are provided below.
GENERAL USE CHEMWATCH URL: All employees and students using computers on
campus (i.e, computers with ONU campus IP addresses) may access ChemWatch
directly using the following URL:

ADVANCED CHEMWATCH URL: If you need off-campus access to ChemWatch or
would like to use advanced environmental health and safety features offered by
ChemWatch (e.g, storing SDSs in electronic files, safety analysis tools) please email
campus-safety@onu.edu to obtain the user/password combination needed to access
the advanced user URL: http://jr.chemwatch.net/chemwatch.web
TUTORIALS:
Yale University EHS has developed a brief ChemWatch tutorial which covers the most
commonly used features of ChemWatch. Yale has given ONU permission to use their
tutorial, which is found at: http://ehs.yale.edu/training/chemwatch-tutorial
Addtional ChemWatch tutorials may be found by clicking on the ChemWatch e-learning
icon at the top of their homepage (the icon looks like a library or building).
