In addition, 9 credits, with approval, are to be taken from the following areas: Anthropology, Studio Art, Education, English, History, Foreign Languages and Literatures (except those used to fulfill the College's language requirement), Music, Philosophy and Theatre. We recommend a second History course, a Studio Art course, and a Foreign Languages and Literatures course at or above the 200-level. ***For students who have credit for ENGL 110 prior to their matriculation, an Honors ENGL 110 is not required. However, 12 Honors credits are still required in the first year. In this case, we recommend taking one of the 200-level Art History course for honors credits to fulfill the requirement of 12 honors credits by end of the freshman year. Students enrolled in a single major may not satisfy the breadth requirement with courses in the subject area of that major. Students who are enrolled in more than one major or degree are allowed to meet the University breadth requirement by taking approved breadth courses from within the subject areas of their majors. NOTES - A minimum grade of C- is required in Honors courses counting toward the Honors Degree. Honors coursework taken Pass-Fail cannot count for the Honors Degree unless the course is only offered Pass-Fail. - With the consent of a faculty sponsor and the Honors Program, a qualified student may also enroll for Honors credit in an independent study course to supplement a regular course on an individual basis. This process is initiated by both students and professors by filling out an application (http://www.udel.edu/honors/faculty/independent_study.html). Applications are due to the director by 5:00 p.m. one week from the first day of classes.
