As demand for energy-efficient “cool roofs” increases, elastomeric roof coatings can lead the charge. Dow Construction
Chemicals offers a variety of advanced materials for these coatings that are designed to meet the high thermal variability and
durability demands of roofs by providing excellent mechanical properties, substrate adhesion, dirt pickup resistance, tensile
strength, solar reflectivity, thermal emissivity and more.
That’s been our specialty since the 1970s, when we pioneered technology that enables elastomeric roof coatings to perform.
Together with key industry associations, government and other partners, Dow Construction Chemicals continues to take that
technology to new levels to drive value for our customers. For example, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy,
we are pushing reflectivity boundaries even further to create an entirely new polymer technology for elastomeric roof coatings.

PRODUCTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
RHOPLEX™ EC-3000 is a 100% acrylic polymer designed for use in white protective roof coatings to impart resistance to early rain
exposure. Coatings based on RHOPLEX™ EC-3000 polymers are an excellent choice for use over a variety of substrates, including
spray polyurethane foam (SPF), metal, concrete and aged built-up asphaltic surfaces.

RHOPLEX™ EC-3100 is an all-acrylic polymer designed for use in pigmented elastomeric roof coating basecoats to provide adhesion
to weathered thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing membranes. When applied to a suitably cleaned, weathered TPO roof, and
topcoated with a durable acrylic elastomeric topcoat, a basecoat with RHOPLEX™ EC-3100 can extend the life of the existing roof.
