Financial Structure and Operations meeting minutes 10/27/2015 Strategic Planning Financial Structure and Operations October 27, 2015 3:00 p.m. RPL 325 Members Present: Sandy Cheffer, Pat Chronister, Shirley Goines, Linda Johnson, Stephen Jones, Brian Lasey, Jim Musser, and Jeff Woods. One guest. I. Discussed enrollment projections using ADE public school data and ATU enrollment figures. 2013-2015 ATU incoming freshmen come largely from nine counties: Pope, Pulaski, Johnson, Crawford, Logan, Sebastian, Franklin, Yell and Faulkner (58.2 percent of total entering freshmen). Potential growth in Benton and Washington counties (11th and 12th respectively) may affect ATU enrollment. Patterns of 7th through 12th grade enrollment in the state seem to indicate a stable to slight increase for the next five years in the state overall and in our top nine feeder counties. The working group projects a likely 3% to 5% growth over the next five years in ATU entering enrollment with no initiatives. Initiatives may significantly alter this figure. Ozark campus growth is likely to be higher over that period, 4% to 8%. II. The impact of enrollment stability or growth over the next five years includes: increased need for specialized classroom space; increased faculty course loads; increased class sizes; diminishing faculty office space; increased need for student housing or for a change in student housing policies; increased need for facilities services and student services leading to an increased need for staff in these areas.
