7. Class Meeting Time and Location: Eielson Ed Center Computer Lab CLASS STARTS AT 5:30pm
8. Catalog Description: Effective and efficient use of integrated software suites (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics) and creating and maintaining web pages. Information technologies applied to problem situations by the design and use of small information systems for individuals and groups.
9. Prerequisites: COSC 2311.

11. Optional Materials: Internet access outside of class, MS Office 2010/2013 (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), email that is accessible from computer lab.
12. Course Outcome Competencies:
Learn advanced applications of Microsoft Office and demonstrate proficiency in using Word, Excel,
Access, and PowerPoint.
13. Attendance Requirements: Attendance is required. Excessive late arrivals or early departures will be taken into consideration. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain any material missed by not attending class for any reason. The students must not miss more than 25% (3 class periods) of the class, or it will result in a failure for the class. Students who do miss more than 3 classes will be reported to the area Dean for decision to give the student credit for the class. It is the student’s responsibility to turn in homework on time based on class attendance or not. In case of TDY’s the instructor should be notified as soon as possible.

15. Course Requirements and Grading Criteria:
Examinations: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access Exams - (60% of the final grade)
Research Paper: A scholarly article on a specific topic and containing a definite thesis statement - (20% of the final grade)
Attendance and Participation (Homework) - (20% of the final grade)
