Forest Service File Code: Route To: Subject: To: Washington Office 2400/5150/2500/2600 1400 Independence Avenue, SW Washington, DC 20250 Date: August 19, 2013 Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program Annual Report Regional Foresters REPLY DUE NOVEMBER 15, 2013 Title IV of the Omnibus Public Land Mangement Act of 2009, which established the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration (CFLR) Program, requires that each CFLR project submit an annual report. In order to complete this task, Regional Foresters with CFLR projects funded in fiscal year (FY) 2013 are asked to submit an annual report using the enclosed template and instructions. In FY 2012, the template for this report was revised in a collaborative process with representatives of the field units and the Washington Office. The report template was simplified and reordered to make it more efficient for field units while still addressing the requirements of the law and providing information needed to prepare the FY 2014 budget justification and the required 5-year report to Congress. In FY 2013, field units were again invited to provide feedback on the template, and these are reflected in the final product. Please note that it is of the utmost importance that each project’s accomplishments are reflected in the appropriate database of record; this year’s annual reports will be made available to partners and Congress, and must reflect accurate accomplishments as captured in these databases. For more information on how to tag accomplishments, please watch the March 21, 2012, peer-learning session available on the CFLR Web site under the “Trainings” tab. In addition, all narratives should be written with an external audience in mind. When filling out this template, I also ask you to be mindful of our intention to provide information that is accessible to all. More details on making electronic documents accessible can be found on the USFS Accessibility Program Website. Thank you for the energy and enthusiasm you have contributed toward implementing your CFLR projects this fiscal year. If you have questions regarding the template and instructions, please contact Lauren Marshall at 202-205-1218, or at lemarshall@fs.fed.us. /s/ James M. Pena (for) LESLIE A. C.
