Method of Evaluation: In terms of recording grades, all methods of assessment will fall under one or more of the general learning outcomes for English. The weight attached to each outcome is as follows: General Learning Outcome 5- Celebrate and Build Community Specific Outcomes: 20% 3.1 Plan and Focus 3.2 Select and Process 3.3 Organize, Record, and Evaluate General Learning Outcome 2- Comprehend & Respond Personally Specific Outcomes: 30% 4.1 Generate and Focus 4.2 Enhance and Improve 4.3 Attend to Conventions 4.4 Present and Share General Learning Outcome 3- Manage Ideas and Information Specific Outcomes: 5.1 Develop and Celebrate Community 5.2 Encourage, Support and Work with Others General Learning Outcome 4- Clarify and Enhance Artistry Specific Outcomes: 10% 2.1 Use Strategies and Cues 2.2 Respond to Text 2.3 Understanding Forms and Techniques 30% General Learning Outcome 1- Explore thoughts, Ideas, and Feelings 10% Specific Outcomes: EXAMS 1.2 Clarify and Extend January 30% (provincial) Late Assignments: It is expected that all assignments will be completed and submitted on time. Under exceptional circumstances, extensions will be given. A mark deduction of 10% will be given per day for up to and including five school days. If students do not have their homework /assignment done on time they will be expected to remain at the school from 3:30-4:30 in order to complete the assignment in our school-wide “Homework Period.” Homework Assignments: In the event that a student is absent, he/she is responsible for the material from any missed classes. *This outline is subject to change.*
