The major strands of Language Arts including creative writing, grammar, spelling, and
comprehension skills will be integrated into all of the themes covered.
Method of Evaluation:
In terms of recording grades, all methods of assessment will fall under one or more of the
general learning outcomes for English. The weight attached to each outcome is as follows:


Late Assignments: It is expected that all assignments will be completed and submitted
on time. Under exceptional circumstances, extensions will be given. A mark deduction
of 10% will be given per day for up to and including five school days. If students do not
have their homework /assignment done on time they will be expected to remain at the
school from 3:30-4:30 in order to complete the assignment in our school-wide
“Homework Period.”
Homework Assignments: In the event that a student is absent, he/she is responsible for
the material from any missed classes.
