military and commercial careers, now utilising previous (unaccredited) teaching and training
experiences and skills with CELTA qualification to Teach English as a Foreign Language.
Commercial experience gained in the training, public sector (Defence/Civil Service College)
and media sectors includes all aspects of starting up and growing a SME focused on training
and media (Film Production and Internet TV). Military career includes extensive experience
in training from subject and course design through to training delivery and teaching as well
a operational service in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

2010 – Present:
Owner/Director/Company Secretary of ETT Ltd: Portfolio business
designing and delivering TEFL courses and classes for the full range of students (Beginners
up to Advanced). Students include 8 – 18 year olds at schools, adults, small groups and One
to One (OTO). Teaching includes students from (inter alia) Saudi Arabian Air Force, Omani
Army, Russia, Poland, Spain, Korea, Japan, Romania etc with many students being prepared
for IELTS and PETS.
2008 – 2010: Director Film4U Ltd: Researched, produced and directed a variety of teaching,
promotional, marketing and fundraising films - Included objective setting, subject matter
research, communications design (best way to communicate messages), resourcing,
preparation, delivery and review. Clients included Prison Service, Wiltshire Council, Police
and Fire Services, Poppy Factory, ABF.
2006 – 2008: Launched community internet TV channel (Vision News TV). As MD and
Company Secretary managed all aspects of business development, marketing and sales,
annual reports, finances, health and safety, HR Management.
2001 – 2005: Co-Owner/MD/Company Secretary of PDM Training and Consultancy Ltd.
Trained individuals and groups in security and management for Edexcel accredited
qualifications – included course design and material preparation, delivery and assessment,
external assessment and validation; Developed business over period from 2 to 85 staff,
revenues of £6.9m with 50% ROI, personally led and implemented ISO 2001/9000 and IiP;
Semi-Finalist in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2005.
1999 – 2001: Associate Lecturer and Teacher to Civil Service College lecturing and
consulting to Public Sector departments (Home Office, MoD, Prison Service) in organisation
development and change management; Role included course design, preparation of
material, class room work and lectures, teaching, assessment and delivery of feedback.
1996 – 1999: Head of Strategic Planning for Army Training and Recruiting Agency
delivering annual Statement of Training Requirement (SOTR) for 47 cost centres, training
77,000 individuals on 5,000+ different courses within an annual budget (RAB) of £2.2Bn.
Head of Organisational and Change Management Team assessing new educational concepts
and technologies such as Blended Learning on delivery of training; Formed and Chaired
Project Assurance Team for Army Sixth Form College, Harrogate (£289m project) validating
all aspects of establishing a new sixth form college for 16 -18 year olds.
1994 – 1996: Personal advisor and staff officer to Corps Commander on all MS/HR matters;
1993 – 1993: Responsible for training and development of 500 personnel.
1991 – 1993: Sub-Unit Commander and Officer responsible for training and preparation of
120 from individual skills up to collective capability.
1989 – 1991: Instructor and teacher at the Junior Division of the Staff College, working with
groups of 10 students for 10- week courses covering all aspects of defence related issues.
Role included course design, preparation & delivery of material, lectures and class work and
work with regular assessment and feedback.
1988 – Student at Army Command and Staff Course.
1976 – 1987: A variety of Junior Staff appointments including AMA to UKMILREP at HQ

2001 - Founded and run The Liquid List (Salisbury) – a networking group meeting monthly to
assist Servicemen and women to transfer from military to civilian employment.
2005 – Appointed as a Magistrate to the Wiltshire Bench.
2009 – Invited and joined Alabare Christian Care Centres Fundraising Advisory Team
June 2013 – Enhanced CRB Check gained.
