We at Dragons’ Den, understand you would like the “Dragons” to invest in your new business. You have been invited to make a sales pitch to us in the hopes that we will invest $10, 000 in your company. We request that you arrive with the following items on your scheduled presentation day: A. Use Microsoft Word to type up a business letter (full block style)and to create your own company letterhead: 1. Create your letterhead first then type up business letter on it. 2. Addressed the letter to “The Dragons”, Dragons’ Den, CBC Television, Audience Relations, CBC, P.O. Box 500 Station A, Toronto, ON, Canada, M5W 1E6 3. The letter must explain why ‘The Dragons” should invest in your company. 4. The letterhead must show your company’s name, and all of your company’s contact information B. Use Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) to create a slideshow presentation consisting of: 1. What your company is all about. Give details of products. Outline who you’re selling to (target market) and why they would be willing to purchase your products. The PPT should be professional, aesthetically pleasing, have animation and slide transitions. 2. Use MS Publisher to create a newspaper advertisement for your company’s product. The ad should have picture of at least one of your products, slogan, and look realistic. 3. Use MS Publisher’s formatting features to create a company information brochure (3 panel style) – that would be geared to your customers. It should be informative and highlight all the great details about the products your company offers. 4. Use Microsoft Excel to create a spreadsheet of your Annual Profit for Jan to Dec 2014 broken down by different products. Use appropriate functions and/or formulae to show the Total, Average, Maximum and Minimum profits for each month and a grand total profit for all products over the twelve month period. Then create a professional looking bar chart to show the, Total Profit for each of the twelve months. * You will create a presentation in the form of a slideshow to the “Dragons”. * You will be evaluated on your delivery and the contents of the slideshow. * To insert copies of the magazine ad and brochure in PowerPoint, save each as a .jpg file. * To insert copies of the spreadsheet and chart, print the excel screens and then paste them into PowerPoint.
