Profili & Eduardo Gabbarini Total Acreage Under Vine: 88 Estate Founded: 2003 Winery Production: 1,350,000 Bottles Location • Renacer’s vineyards are located in Perdriel, Lujan de Cuyo, a unique zone in Mendoza, Argentina. • In addition to Renacer’s more than 88 acres of Malbec vines, the winery also purchases grapes from local producers in order to take advantage of Mendoza’s many terroirs — those in the Uco Valley, Lujan de Cuyo and Medrano. • The limey soils that surround the winery offer the best possible growing conditions for Malbec grapes. • The grapes are sourced from two old-vine vineyards, the “Agrelo” and the “La Consulta”, both over 50 years old, that produce yields ranging from 2.6 to 3.6 tons per acre. History • Founded by Patricio Reich, with the collaboration of world-renowned winemaker Alberto Antonini. • The winery structure itself is quite impressive, featuring a medieval tower built of rocks with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. • The combination of Patricio’s passion for Mendoza’s wines and his extensive business experience has resulted in a modern and sophisticated winery that produces well-crafted, enjoyable wines that offer tremendous value. The Winery • • • • • • Bodega Renacer was built in 2004 It is a fusion between classic and modern architecture: well defined, straight lines combine with Tuscan-inspired walls to provide a highly attractive and unique building. Renacer is equipped with top of the line Italian technology: stainless steel tanks, underground cement tanks sealed with epoxy for aging and computerized temperature control, and hundreds of French Oak Barrels for premium wines. At Bodega Renacer they believe that exceptional wine quality should not cost the Earth and have built their operations around the principle of being one of the most environmentally friendly bottled wine brands you can get from Argentina. Renacer is the first winery in Argentina to use solar energy and is also the first to offset carbon emissions and certify Carbon Footprint. They also store the water that flows from the Andes Mountains in natural ponds, and provide the vines only with the water that they need and nothing more. Owner Patricio Reich - Chairman and Owner •Born in Chile, he attended the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. •Graduated from the MBA program at the University of Chicago. •He has worked as a loan officer for the World Bank in Washington DC, and as an executive at the Santiago Chamber of Commerce. •He has also served as CEO and shareholder of companies in a wide variety of industries, including the finance, consumer electronics, airline, and industrial commodity businesses. •After many years as a Board Member and shareholder at Viña San Pedro, Patricio made the decision to start his own wine business. •With the assistance of Alberto Antonini of wine consulting firm Matura Group, he founded Bodegas y Viñedos Renacer in the Mendoza region of Argentina. Winemaker Alberto Antonini – Consulting Winemaker •Graduated from the University of Florence in 1985, with a degree in Agricultural Sciences and Enology. •1986: Assistant Winemaker at Marchesi de Frescobaldi. •1989: Production Director for Col D’Orcia Winery in Montalcino. •1993: Winemaking Director of Antinori Group •1996: founded the Matura Group with business partner Attilio Pagli - a wine consulting company – Today, as CEO and Senior Winemaker of Matura Group, Alberto consults for wineries in virtually all the major wine producing countries. •2001: founded Poggiotondo, a Tuscan winery •Founded Fortediga, a brand new estate that focuses on international varietals and innovative wines from the pristine Maremma area of Tuscany. The grapes are dried on the vines (appassimento), until they loose 1/3 of their weight. After a prolonged fermentation (both alcoholic and malolactic) the wine is aged in new French barriques for 12 months. Supple aromas of ripe berries, raisin, and plums. Sensual notes of exotic spices, charcoal and chocolate are seamlessly layered with the fruit. Full bodied, rich and complex, with a long finish beautifully framed by fine-grained tannins. Pair with semi soft cheese, dark chocolate, and pasta with mushroom sauce. Punto Final Cabernet Sauvignon • 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc • The wine was aged in French oak barrels, providing added complexity, smooth tannins and an elegant bouquet. • Red berry and spice notes combine nicely in the mouth offering flavors of plum and cherry, with a jammy personality and good structure. The mouthfeel is elegant, and the finish lingers with good acidity. • Pairs well with beef, cheeses, wild game, and grilled pork Punto Final Malbec Clásico • 100% Malbec • Punto Final Malbec is the true expression of the potential of Mendoza's terroir, and it represents a blend of Malbecs from different regions, altitudes and climates. • Deep ruby red in color with notes of blackberry, blueberry and cassis. On the palate, the wine is balanced and round, with a jammy mouthfeel and a long finish. • Pair with steak, pasta with meat sauce, risotto, lamb and cheeses. Punto Final Malbec Reserva • 100% Malbec • Sourced primarily from the higher altitude vineyard sites and from vineyards producing yields of only 2.7 tons per acre. • On the nose, a combination of red fruits and toasty notes given by the French oak are evident. In the mouth, the wine is complex and structured with a long aftertaste. • Pair with grilled meats or tagliatelle with spicy tomato sauce. Renacer • 100% Malbec • This is a limited-edition icon wine aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and cellared for 6 months in the bottle. • A rich and dense wine, with notes of ripe and caramelized fruits complemented by licorice and fresh herbs. Lush and supple in the mouth, with caressing tannins and a round finish. • Recommended with grilled red meats, cheeses and roasted duck.
