Daily Value – the amount of certain nutrients that
most people need to eat each day.
– If a nutrient has 5%DV or less, it is low in
that nutrient.
– If a nutrient has 20%DV or more, it is high in
that nutrient.

by the manufacturer.
– It is not what you want it to be!
– It may be more or less than you think!

• The amount of calories you eat depends on the
number of servings you eat
– Beware! The calories per serving is usually
different than calories per package/container

• 5%DV or lower will help limit nutrients like fat or
sodium
• 20%DV or high will help increase nutrients like
fiber certain vitamins
