Properties of Polygons
Definitions
Regular polygons whose sides are all the same length and
whose angles are have the same measure.
Equilateral-all sides are the same length.
Equiangular-all angles have the same measure.
*Regular polygons are both equilateral and equiangular.

To calculate the interior angles of a polygon:
Interior Angles = (n-2)*180°
You can also calculate interior angles by drawing triangles count
the amount of triangles and multiply by 180° because there are
180° in each triangle.
This polygon is a hexagon polygon is a hexagon (6 sided). I
divided the shape into 4 triangles. If I multiply 180° by 4
triangles I will get 720° for the interior angles of a hexagon.
Interior Angles = (n-2)*180°
I = (6-2) * 180°
I= (4) * 180°
I = 720°

Triangle -a three-sided polygon. The sum of the angles of
a triangle is 180°.
°°
Quadrilateral – a four sided polygon. The sum of the
angles of a quadrilateral is 360°
Pentagon- five –sided polygon. The sum of the angles of
a pentagon is 540°.
Hexagon- a six-sided polygon. the sum of the angles of a
hexagon is 720°.
Hptagone- a seven-sided polygon. The sum of the angles
of a heptagon is 900°.
Octagon - an eight-sided polygon. The sum of the angles
of an octagon is 1080°.
Nonagon- a nine-sided polygon. The sum of the angles of
a nonagon is 1260°.
Decagon - a ten-sided polygon. The sum of the angles of
a decagon is 1440°.
have one pair of opposite sides that are parallel wh
oids ich are called the bases
Isosceles trapezoids have one pair of opposite sides that
are parallel which are called the bases. The non-parallel
sides are congruent and both base angles are congruent.
Parallelograms have opposite sides that are parallel and
congruent and opposite angles that are congruent.
Rhombuses have opposite sides that are parallel four
sides of equal length and opposite angles that are
congruent.
Rectangles have four right angles and opposite sides that
are parallel and congruent.
