Sunday, February 3:
 Monica Quan, and her fiancé Keith Lawrence were found dead in a
parking structure, in their car.
 Monica Quan was daughter of Ex-Captain of Los Angeles police
department
 She represented Dorner disciplinary hearing resulting in his dismissal in 2009
Monday, February 4 (9:30am):
 Christopher Dorner belongings found in a trash bin; National City California
Wednesday, February 6:
 Irvine Police announce Dorner as a suspect in the killings of Monica Quan
and her fiancé Keith Lawrence
 Discovery of online manifesto posted to Dorner’s Facebook page

 Reports racial issues still remaining in the LAPD
 No changes in the LAPD police department since
media highlighted cases involving Mark Furham, Dale
Gates, and Rodney King
 Listed a “hit list”; list of individuals he feels
betrayed him
 Lists underpaid officers

 Speaks majority of the manifesto to journalist;
providing them with as much information
about the LAPD
 LAPD officers pocketing thousands of dollars

 Why he was kicked off the police force; accused of
lying about a situation involving two fellow officers
 Just wanted to clear his name and tell the
world of the LAPD problems
 Really affected by being called a bully

 Exposing corruption within the LAPD; listed those who
were wrongfully promoted
 Speaks of his childhood: How he grew up, where he
grew up
 Wrote about his report writing skills; he was accused of
reporting poorly and felt the need to clear his name in
the manifesto
 He attempted numerous times with Supreme Court
and California Appellate courts and stated what he
did was a last resorts to regain his image
 Presidential election
 Jay-z, Charlie Sheen, an assortment of actors,
musicians, TV personnel etc…
 Speaks out to the black community
 Stated that the LAPD is the cause of his bad
relationship between his mother and sister
because they damaged his name
Manhunt begins: February 6, 2013
 10:30 pm: Man matching Dorner’s description ties 81 year old man in an
attempt to steal a boat; attempt was unsuccessful and man unharmed
February 7th (1:30 am):
 Two LAPD officers assigned to manifesto targeted persons home, in
Riverside, California chase vehicle believe to be Dorners; shootout begins
 One officer grazed in forehead and the other was unharmed
 Shortly after; two officers routine patrolling are ambushed at a stop light
 One officer is killed; the other critically injured
(5:15 am):
 LAPD officers guarding another target person’s home in Los Angeles Suburb
of Torrence open fire on truck mistaken for Dorner’s.
 Mother and Daughter delivering newspaper wounded
 Another vehicle is mistaken in Torrence, a short time after, but no one was
harmed

someone reported seeing Dorner;
reports later declined

 Dorner’s home and mother’s
home searched; no weapons
found and authorities chose to

discovered

announced; 700 tips reported
February 11, 2013
 Christopher Dorner charged with murdering of an
officer; also charged with attempted member of 3 other
officers; potential death penalty case

Dorner ties two victims Karen an Jim
Reynolds in there vacation home in San
Bernardino Mountians; flees with their
car and left unharmed
• Home suspected to have been hideout
• Shoot-Out begins in San Bernardino
County San Berndino Mountains
• One deputy shot and killed
• Officers’ ordered to smoke
Christopher Dorner out of cabin,
exchanged gun fire causes cabin to
set fire
• Single-shot heard from inside burning
cabin
• Hours later charred body discovered
• February 13, 2013 charred body
found confirmed to be Christopher
Dorners; found wallet and driver’s
license
