Their/There/They’re
• There: the opposite of here, indicates a place.

• THAN: Used to show comparison and preference
• Examples: He is richer than I. I would rather dance than eat.
• THEN: Used to show a time other than now, indicate next,
suggest a logical conclusion.
• Examples: He was younger then. First we must study, then we can
play. If you’ve studied hard, then the exam should be no problem.

• 1. Use an apostrophe to show one or more letters left
out of a word.
• (hadn’t, they’d, it’s)
• 2. Add an apostrophe and an -s to form the possessive
for a singular noun or a plural noun that does not end in
–s. Add only an apostrophe to plural nouns that end in
–s.
• (men’s department, class’s fan, ship’s escape, students’
homework, bosses’ orders, children’s book).
• When a singular proper noun ends with an s or a z sound,
you usually add an –‘s if it is a one syllable word. (Ross’s,
