Greek Core
The purpose of the Greek Core is to develop leaders, cultivate intellectual growth, build
relevant community relations, and strengthen fraternal bonds. Through participation:
-
Students will be able to work with other members of Greek chapters.
Students will become immersed in the Greek community, the K-State community and
the Manhattan community.
Students will get hands on leadership experience.
Students will gain knowledge about the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic
Council.
The Greek Core programming will consist of the four core values through various activities
and presentations:
1. Leadership: Those selected will spend a day working together and exploring
leadership at the K-State Challenge Course.
2. Intellectual Growth: Will consist of presentations about scholarship, academic and
professional development opportunities at K-State. Possible presenters could
include ACIC, CES, etc.
3. Community: Learn more about the Manhattan community by meeting with
community groups and leaders. City officials could be from Manhattan Parks &
Recreation Services, city council, local charity groups, and various members of the
Manhattan community.
4. Fraternal Bonds: Spend an evening learning about how our Greek Community
interacts and is led. This session will focus on how our Interfraternity and
Panhellenic Councils function and interact. We will also explore other leadership
