THE SLOTH
 Sloths can turn their heads 270 degrees
 When looking for a mate, female sloths emit a scream that
can be heard up to 1500’ away
 11,000 years ago, sloths were the size of elephants
 There are less than 100 three-toed pygmy sloths left in the
world
 They can retain their grip after death
 Sloths in captivity can sleep for up to 20 hours a day
 Original color of the fur is often masked with layers of algae
on its surface.
 On the ground, the maximum speed of the sloth is 6.5 ft per
