ROMEO AND JULIET JOURNAL
ASSIGNMENT:
Choose a character and begin a diary for him or her that you will keep throughout the action of
the play. Make journal entries for the key moments of the play, plus any others that you wish to
include. Since it is a private diary, your character will be able to speak honestly and openly, even
if he or she does not speak that way in public. You must choose from one of the following
characters:
Lord Montague (Romeo’s father)
Lady Montague (Romeo’s mother)
Romeo
Lord Capulet (Juliet’s father)
Lady Capulet (Juliet’s mother)
Juliet
Tybalt (Juliet’s cousin and enemy to Romeo)
Nurse (to Juliet)
Mercutio (Romeo’s best friend)
Friar Laurence
Count Paris (Juliet’s intended husband)
You must have 10 TYPED journal entries (10 points each). This assignment is due Wednesday,
May 15. I will not accept any late work with this assignment. This will count as a 100-point
project grade.
