6th Grade Math/Science
Monday
(Math) No math today only Science
(Science)
Objective: Students will complete a comprehensive study guide in preparation for the Science
Exam on Thursday.
Method: Students will work independently on the study guide for the first half of the class and
then in groups for the second half of class.
Assessment: Students will be assessed on how many correct answers they get on the study
guide.
Independent Practice: For homework the students had to finish any unanswered questions on
the study guide.
Tuesday
(Math) The Percent Equation
Objective: Students will be able to calculate the percent of a number using a proportion
problem.
Method: First we will review our quiz that we took on Friday with the substitute. Next we will
take detailed notes on how to calculate percent of a number using the equation %/100 = is/of.
The students already have some practice at this because I front loaded the formula last week.
Teacher will demonstrate two problems; the students will guide the teacher through three
problems. Students will then get into groups and complete and present four problems on the
Smart Board.
Assessment: Students will be assessed on group work and presentations.
Independent Practice: Math Practice Workbook pages 77 – 78 odd numbered problems 1-19.
Homework in math is subject to change depending on science review.
(Science) Quiz Review and Study Guide Review
Objective: Students will go over the open book quiz that they took on Friday, and the study
guide in preparation for the exam on Wednesday.
Method: Students will get into groups and review the answers from both the Science Study
Guide and the Open Book Quiz from Friday. Next the students will get into five teams and we
will play Review Jeopardy as a class competing for top prize. (Ice Cream Sandwiches)
Assessment: Students will be assessed during the review game and their overall scores on both
study guide and quiz from Friday.
Independent Practice: For homework the students must study for the exam on Wednesday.
Wednesday
(Math) No Math due to Science Exam
(Science) Science Exam
Thursday
****Shortened class period due to mass and early dismissal. We will review Science Exams and scores
due to lack of time.****
7th Grade Math/Science

(Math) Math Chapter Exam
(Science) No Science due to Math Exam.
Tuesday

****We are going to help our 2nd Grade Buddies with their math lesson for the beginning of the
morning. ****
(Science)
Objective: Students are going to review the concepts on the Science Study Guide, by playing a
review game “Class Feud,” very similar to “Family Feud.”
Method: Students will get into groups and review the study guide and compare answers. Next
the class will be divided into two large groups, which will complete against each other. Students
will play the review game, winning group gets a pizza party when we return from Spring Break.
Assessment: Students will be assessed during the game and their score on the review guide.
Independent Practice: No homework but to study because we will not have class for the rest of
the week due to church services.

8th Grade Math/Science
Monday
(Math) 7.3 Solve Linear Systems by Adding or Subtracting
Objective: Students will learn to solve linear systems by adding or subtracting to eliminate one
of the variables to solve for the other.
Method: Students will take detailed notes on how to solve linear systems using adding or
subtracting. Teacher will demonstrate how to solve two problems, students will guide teacher
through four problems. Last the students will get into groups and solve four problems on their
own and present them on the Smart Board.
Assessment: Students will be assessed during their groups work and during presentation portion
of the lesson.
Independent Practice: Math Practice Work book 7.3 pages 100-101 all problems on the page.
(Science)
Objective: Students will complete a study guide independently using their book, iPad or notes
from the section.
Method: Students will work independently on their study guide using all available resources,
such as textbook, IPad, or notes.
Assessment: Students will be assessed on the overall score of the study guide.
Independent Practice: Any questions not finished on the study guide.
Tuesday
****No class due to 8th grade field trip to courthouse.****
Wednesday
****Class is very short due to 7th Grade mass and confession. We will review the science study guide
as a class to prepare for our exam when we return from break. ****
Thursday
****No Class due to all school mass and mini day.****
