August- September: Form your own study group o Buy a Review book for the test o Receive the list of “important figures”, keep this safe o Print out Environmental Laws- Got to Usui’s teacher page @ www.cnusd.k12.ca.us/nohs Kyoto Protocol Madrid Protocol Montreal Protocol Clean Air Act Clean Water Act o With each chapter do one practice FRQ and a practice quiz on the online textbook’s site. o Don’t slack off on reading the book Pay attention to figures, case studies and tables 2. October-December By this point you have gone through several chapters. Find what ones make you struggle and focus on them. Learn them. Live them. Love them Take a practice test. It will tell you what you need to work on and give you more experience in taking them 3. January-March Go through prep book (1-2 pages a day) Go on College Board and look at past tests and FRQs Start an account on Quizlet and review the “150 ways to go APES” and Environmental Laws at least once a week-Usui will set up in the library later on in the year 4. April Do every quiz on the online textbook. It will give you a good estimate of chapters you know and don’t know. Study the ones you don’t know. Do a practice test complete with FRQs. Continue Quizlet – 140 Ways to Go APES and Environmental Laws Take it easy and relax. You will be fine regardless Focus more on notes (and TESXTBOOK)rather than Vocabulary Focus more on concepts as the test is about applying knowledge and not reciting it 5. The morning of: Eat a good breakfast Wear comfortable clothing Bring snacks Remember to read questions carefully Be ready to pass! Remember – What would Miller say? Multiple Choice Strategies Answer what you know first and then go back Sometimes the answer is in a later question Remember your vocabulary and concepts to answer the question, apply your knowledge to answer the question Trust your first instincts, don’t change your answer!!!!!! FRQ Strategies: Treat all in-class questions (FRQ assignments and CT problems) like FRQs Focus on how they want you to write answers For math questions practice one math database FRQ per chapter PowerPoint for practice with math.
