Learning Activity 1:
Graphic Organizer:
Students will be given ones, tens and hundreds
manipulatives. They will model different 10’s and
100’s numbers with the manipulatives.
Assessment Prompt:
Students will work with a partner giving each other
numbers to make. They will then qui z each other
and compare the numbers using greater than and
less than,
Learning Activity 2:
Students will use square, sticks and dots to represent
100’s tens and ones. Model for the students how to
write the number in 3 different forms, standard, word
form and expanded form.
Assessment Prompt:
Students complete the “”Place value expanded
form” paper. When complete, have them check the
work with their partner and then create more
expanded form to quiz each other.

Students will use place value manipulatives to
