Ms. Versteeg BIOLOGY 12 COURSE OUTLINE Welcome to Biology 12! This course includes material covering general processes of science, cell biology, and human biology. TEXTBOOK: INQUIRY INTO LIFE (10th edition), Sylvia Mader CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS: 1. Attend class regularly and be on time. Arriving late is disruptive and you will miss important information given at the beginning of class. 2. Bring required materials to class. It is important that you bring your textbook to every class. Also, don’t be that person who always has to borrow a pen or a piece of paper. Come prepared and ready to learn. 3. Complete all assignments, homework, and projects on time. Late work will not be accepted and missing assignments will require completion on Goal Day. 4. Prepare thoroughly for every test. If you know that you will be away for a test or quiz, please inform Ms. Versteeg ahead of time. If an unexpected illness or emergency arises, your parent/guardian must phone and personally speak to Ms. Versteeg by 8:30am on the day of the quiz/test. There are no re-tests. EVALUATION: Tests/Quizzes- 80% Assignments - 20% (Labs,projects,homework) NOTE: This course includes dissections of preserved or fresh biological specimens. If you would prefer to not participate in these activities, please discuss your questions or concerns with Ms.Versteeg.
