Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
My name is Tamika Dixon and I will be teaching your student Spanish 1 this semester. I have outlined my course
expectations in the class syllabus which I distributed today in class. Please go over the syllabus with your child and
discuss it together to make sure you both fully understand what is expected from him/her in Spanish class. Then, please
sign below to indicate that you have read and understood the syllabus. Also, please help your student complete the
student information form with valid contact information so that I can keep you updated on your student’s progress.
Grades will be uploaded on average once per week and progress reports will be sent home every 15 days so that
you can keep up with your student’s grades in this class. Please make sure you know how to access the online School
Wires website for this class. If you have not done this before, here is a brief tutorial.
1) Go to the school homepage: www.abss.k12.nc.us/sah
2) On the red toolbar beneath the school name header, click “Teacher Webpages”
3) Scroll down to the “D” section and click my name, “Dixon, Tamika”. This will take you to the class webpage.
I will try to regularly post announcements, study guides, notes/handouts and other useful information on the class
website, so please check regularly.
Mrs. Yandell, a French teacher at SAHS, will be hosting a trip to France and Spain through EF Tours in the summer of
2014. Please check out the tour website www.eftours.com/1356840 to see our itinerary and price information. If you
and your child are at all interested in joining our tour group, please let us know! This is a once in a lifetime trip!
