MORAND – Vice Chairman, President & Managing Partner Bob joined DW Simpson in December of 1992. Prior to joining the firm, he spent nine years in advertising as a senior account executive working for advertising agencies such as Tatham-Laird & Kudner, August Bishop & Meier, and Cunningham & Walsh, and worked on brands for companies such as Miller Brewing Company, R.J. Reynolds, Pizza Hut and Burger King. Bob earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in Spanish in 1982 from Southern Illinois University. He spent a year as a freelance writer before entering advertising, and continues to use his Spanish speaking skills in his work today. David originally joined DW Simpson in April of 1996 as a Recruiter. He spent six years with the firm recruiting actuaries at all levels within life, health, property & casualty, pension and non-traditional roles. He played a key role in managing and building relationships with numerous DW Simpson clients. In March of 2002, David decided to explore the client side and joined CNA as a Recruiting Consultant specializing in actuarial hires. He left CNA after three years to join Ernst & Young where he worked for two years as the Experienced Hire Recruiter for the Life & Health and Property & Casualty National Actuarial Practice. David earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 1992 from the University of Southern Indiana. He is a member of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) Employers Advisory Council, and the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA) Corporate Advisory Council. Clients and searches span the actuarial and analytical spectrum including roles such as Chief Actuaries and Direct-Entry Partners in Health, Life, Analytics and Property & Casualty companies and consultants. Dave worked for Lippincott William & Wilkins – a premier medical publisher based in Baltimore – in progressively senior roles culminating as the head of New Business Development. Dave came to the firm in October of 1998 to run On-Campus Resources, a new business under the DW Simpson umbrella. Over a ten year period, OCR diversified and grew to serve university recruiting programs for companies such as Toyota, Monsanto, Accenture, Maytag and John Hancock. In January 2011 OCR was sold and Dave moved into his current role within the Retained Search Services group. As Director of Client Development at DW Simpson, Rhonda seeks out new avenues and opportunities where actuaries and other quantitative professionals can add value. Additionally, Rhonda works to expand the base of professional opportunities for our candidates. She also works closely with DW Simpson’s Retained Search Services to identify opportunities and introduce their services to organizations that would benefit from a Retained Search. Rhonda also monitors the internet and job sites to ensure DW Simpson is aware of the latest opportunities in the field and she is a contributing writer to the DW Simpson Newsletter. She attends numerous actuarial meetings and functions throughout the year and travels to many on site client visits throughout North America.
