MISSION
To actively support our Job Seekers to participate in the community by addressing social
barriers, developing workplace skills and assisting them to secure and maintain sustainable
employment.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
To help job seekers to secure and maintain employment by promoting our job seekers to
employers, and to build and maintain effective relationships with employers and industry that
will result in employment opportunities for our job seekers.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
 Demonstrated skills and/or experience in sales and marketing;
 Knowledge of key industries and employers in local labour market;
 Presentation, negotiation, and objection handling skills;
 Demonstrated administration skills including the ability to maintain records;
 Effective time management and organisational skills along with demonstrated capacity
to meet key performance indicators; and
 Strong computer skills with the ability to use a number of different programs and
software.
Desirable
 Sound knowledge of services and programs available from Government and Community
organisations; and
 Knowledge of Job Services Australia or Disability Employment Services.
PERSONAL QUALITIES

Developing and maintaining knowledge of
the local labour market;
Develop and maintain effective relationships
with local employers;
Visiting employers to assess current and
future employment opportunities;
Providing labour market advice to
employers and job seekers;
Building knowledge of employer recruitment
practices;
Use effective sales and marketing
techniques to develop new business and
source job vacancies;
Proactive marketing of job seekers to
employers (reverse marketing);
Negotiate work experience placements;
Facilitating information sessions for
employers and job seekers;
Utililise labour market knowledge and job
seeker knowledge to develop employment
strategies to provide employment
opportunities;
Represent Sureway through individual and
group presentations and attendance at
relevant business and community events;
Promote JSA and/or DES services;
Assist Employment Advisers by sharing
details of suitable vacancies for their client
group; and
Where required, ensure WHS issues are
identified that are relevant for the
jobseekers, their supervisors and coworkers to establish and maintain a safe
working environment.
Meeting with job seekers to assess skills
and experience;
Undertake caseload profiling; and
Liaise with Employment Adviser and
Employment Trainer;
Match clients to available vacancies;
Negotiating individual work experience
placements;
Conduct job carving;
Deliver labour market information sessions
to Career Pathway Assistance Program
(CPAP);
Provide job search activities to small groups
of job seekers (Assisted Job Search);
Undertake employment retainment
activities.

Complete purchase orders and submit
evidence in a timely manner;
Provide weekly report to Team Leader and
Area Manager;
Adhere to confidentiality requirements and
ensure security of documentation;
Observe Sureway’s policies and procedures;
and
Contribute to office cleanliness and
maintenance of a professional environment.

Take all measures necessary to ensure your
safety in carrying out your duties;
