Decisions, Decisions…..
Joshua 24
• He called everyone together – it was a day of
significance
• He reminded them of the history of the
children of Israel
• He took them close to 700 years earlier, when
God made a promise to Abraham
• He reminded them of the recent victories that
God gave them over their enemies
Now therefore!
• Verse 14 brings them to the brink of a large
decision they will make over their lives and he
asks the question in verse 15
Fast forward 1000 years
• Those same children of Israel made a
commitment to serve the Lord
• They turned their backs on Him because
compromise seemed easier
• Their stubbornness, pride, and trusting
themselves caused nothing but trouble
• Assyria, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and
now Romans were their masters
Paul utters these words
• Romans 6:16-23
• He says again – choose whom you will serve
Fast forward another 2000 years
• Every one of us has decisions to make every
single day
• A study of 200 middle aged people done by
Cornell University estimated a person makes
up to 35,000 decisions in one day (where to
sit, where to eat, what to say, where to go etc)
• What is your line in the sand? What is true
north to you?
Self application?
• So are you already born again? Have you
made the public declaration of who you will
serve. How are you doing with that?
• Have you never made that decision? How is
that working out for you? What are you
waiting for?

• Today, Daniel and Jesse will declare who they
will serve as they raise their latest gift from
God
• Galatians 4:1 – They are stewards, parents of a
gift. They will watch, protect, train, and teach
until Jacob can make his own line in the sand
to accept and live for Jesus
