Contact is a dynamic arts organisation with young people at the heart of everything we do. We are
open to anyone who wants to come and join in.

WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMMES
Ever wanted to learn new things, do something creative or make friends who like what you like?
We run regular, free and inspiring workshops and programmes which you can drop in for or join on a
more long-term basis. They include:
MONDAY DROP: Weekly Mondays, 7pm-9pm, FREE, ages 13 to 19
Interested in drama skills and acting? Drop in to our regular Monday night sessions and learn from
poets, performers, actors and directors. No experience necessary.
TECHNIQUE: Weekly Mondays, 7pm-9pm, FREE, ages 15 to 25
What happens behind the scenes in theatre? Find out about sound and lighting, stage management,
design, and a lot more in sessions led by our professional technicians.
YOUNG IDENTITY Weekly Tue, 7pm-9pm, FREE, ages 13 to 25
Write, create and perform with Manchester’s premiere young spoken word performers.

MEDIA DROP: Weekly Mon and Tue, 6pm-9pm, FREE, ages 13 to 21
MCs, DJs, vocalists, poets and producers! Collaborate, build skills, and share tracks in person and
online.
SCRIPTWORKS: Weekly, Mon, 6:30pm-8:30pm, FREE, over 18s.
Writers! How does your work translate to the stage? Find out as your work is read by professional

CONTACT YOUNG ACTORS COMPANY (CYAC): Weekly sessions, FREE, ages 15 to 25
Auditions every season.
Work with renowned, professional directors to produce three amazing shows over the course of a
year. Explore your creativity, push your abilities and be part of one of the country’s leading young
actors companies.
