What do you know to support the beliefs? Activity: Take ten minutes to list your beliefs and your rationale for Student Achievement. You will be expected to share these in your small group in order to present the committee with two belief statements supported with rationale. AN INITIATIVE OF FOUNDATIONS FOR A BETTER OREGON Design Principle # 1 Student Achievement Rationale: Students must develop the knowledge, attitudes, and habits of mind necessary for success in the 21st century. Students need to be challenged to become creative and critical thinkers. Each student is unique and benefits when provided choices and guidance in education. Students need to engage in learning as a lifelong process requiring motivation, inspiration and opportunity. AN INITIATIVE OF FOUNDATIONS FOR A BETTER OREGON Design Principle # 1 Student Achievement Activities: Incorporate outcomes for graduates of Ashland School District into all curriculum and instruction to ensure career and college readiness across all grade levels. Provide clear standards and performance expectations for students in all content areas and grade levels, including the implementation of the Common Core standards. Adopt the INTASC teaching standards so that students will experience high quality teaching and learning. Ensure that each student has a Personalized Education Plan beginning in grade 7. AN INITIATIVE OF FOUNDATIONS FOR A BETTER OREGON Design Principle Committees Use recommended format for Corvallis School District. Meet and prepare the Design Principle by November 5. Submit Design Principle to Allison via email. All work will be emailed to all committee members for recommendations and or revisions for each committee by November 12. Each Committee will finalize their document present it at the November Design Committee meeting.
