Become familiar with the class and expectations

Homework: Get syllabus signed & have all materials by Monday (paper, pens/pencils, 1 in. binder with
pockets, Kleenex (1box)
Aug. 10th
Become familiar with class procedures and explain the need for government.
Class Procedures review
Concept of Government and need for it.
Media Presentation followed by questions and class discussion
Check for Understanding: exit ticket
Aug. 11th
Ch. 1 vocabulary terms: monarchy, dictatorship, totalitarian, anarchy, oligarchy, aristocracy, Civics,
government, democracy, representative democracy, citizens, public policy, direct democracy, majority
rule (If textbooks are not issued yet use www.dictionary.com or similar site.)
Students write questions for “What am I?” game
Homework: Review notes daily. Complete vocab. at home if not completed in class due Friday Aug.

Must be done in class)
