DaVinchi’s Body Proportions The Vitruvian Man is a drawing created by Leonardo da Vinci circa 1487.[1] It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the architect, Vitruvius. The drawing is based on the correlations of ideal human proportions with geometry described[4] by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius in Book III of his treatise De Architectura. Vitruvius described the human figure as being the principal source of proportion among the Classical orders of architecture. Leonardo's drawing is traditionally named in honor of the architect. Your job it to determine if DaVinci’s research represents a function of not. Steps: 1. Each of you will measure and take not of, your shoe size, height, and arm span. 2. After you have completed yours, you will need to get the information from everyone else in the class. 3. Plot the information on the graph provided. 4. Determine if the data represents a function. 5. Draw a line of best fit for the data and write the equation. Answer any extra questions. Height vs. Arm Span Person Predict the arm span of a person with a height of 66 in.
