Who said it? Use these examples of quotations as a start for your test review. Keep in mind this list is
not comprehensive, but it is an example of some of the more obscure quotations you might encounter:

“For the daughter of the town drunk, you sure got big plans.”
“I think that maybe sometimes people get the lives they want.”
“I’m going to take your girl upstairs.”
“Jes’ spell my name right, ma’am…so’s my kin’ll know who you’re writin’ about.”
“Just slice off the maggoty parts. The inside’s fine.”
“Keep this up and people are going to think you’re a nigger lover.”
“Look at the way you live. You’ve sold out. Next thing I know, you’ll become a Republican.”
“What do you know about the lives of the underprivileged?”
“You should learn to enjoy the comic episodes a little more”

Why is it important? Read over these 3 passages, and examine them for tone and rhetorical devices.
Also make sure you understand context.
