described in your book. (pg 132-133). Define the four types of minor parties in America.
Using your book or internet you must find an example of each type. Then explain why if
fits into that category.

A New Political Party
This project can be done with a group up to 4 people. If you were to create your own political
party, or if one existed that stood for the things you stand for, what would your political party look like?
Think about the things that matter most to you, and create a poster advertising your party with:

a. Give your party any name that you want (So long as it is appropriate). Be Creative.

a. What is the reason you exist?
Five (5) issues that your party stands for.
a. What matters to you? These can be things that you want to see changed, things you
want to protect, or things that you want to see the government continue to do well.
b. After each issue, explain why your political party takes a stance on your chosen issue.
Answer the following questions on paper (either typed or written).

a. Reflect on your five issues, and share whether you believe that people would join your
political party or vote for your candidates.

Part of your grade for this project will be your participation. Stay on task and contribute to your
individual or group effort until the project is finished. If you do not do this, you will lose points.
The rubric for the project is based on the Roman Numerals on this page. The rubric is posted on the
class websites for March 8 and March 11. We will begin this project on March 8. You will have 15
minutes at the beginning of class on March 11 to finish.
