Maths Magic Virtual Workshop - Outline
The Maths Magic virtual workshop takes students on a journey into the mystery and magic that
can be found in maths. Presenters will read minds with algebra, explore tessellation, and have
your students participate in probability.
What to expect during the workshop

Teacher to adjust camera and microphone.
Introductions and AV checks
Move the camera and zoom in/out to
ensure the whole class is visible.
Make sure the microphone is NOT on mute
(we’ll be asking questions throughout the
session).

Self-adhesive note (7.5cm x 7.5cm)

Piece of sticky tape (5cm length)

Pair of scissors

Pencil

A4 sheet of paper

1 Coin (All groups in a session need to have the same type of coin. It needs to be either
5c, 10c or 20c coin.)

Chessboard Chances Worksheet (printed from A3 template provided)

Two self-adhesive notes (or similar) for recording data
