"Maryland House Passes Gun Bill with Fingerprint Requirement." Fox News. FOX News Network, 04 Apr.

2013. Web. 10 Apr.

Maryland has become the nation’s strongest gun control state after passing a law that requires anybody that wants to buy a handgun to go to the police station and provide their fingerprints.

Th ey also have banned 45 assault weapons, people that have them at this moment will be able to keep them. This bill has also put a limit on how many rounds a magazine can hold. They will only sell 10 rounds in a clip. The bill passed with a 78-61 vote, the 78 people that voted for the bill were all democrats while the 61 people were 18 democrats and 43 republicans.

This article feels like it could be a reliable source if I had to use it for a paper. It is a recent article that is accurate with many other article that I have researched. It does not seem very bias either, it uses examples of both sides of the argument and uses quotes of each opposing side. This article is just trying to give facts and provide information to the public about what is going on in Maryland.

This article is a great source to show government control over its people. It shows information on both activist and the opposing side. You could use this article to show government control over its people. This article did not change my opinion on this topic yet I would be able to us many examples that would add many details to create a great overall topic fighting against government control over it people.

"In South Los Angeles, New Fast-Food Spots Get a ‘No, Thanks’." New York Times 16 Jan.

2011: A17. The New York Times . 15 Jan. 2011. Web. 8 June 2013.

In order to reduce the obesity rate in Los Angeles the city council has banned restaurants and fast food restaurants from building a half mile from each other. There are ways to get around this, regular restaurants can get permits but fast food restaurants cannot build at all. There was first a trial test in 2008 for a year but now it has been approved for good.

Nobody can create any restaurant within a half mile of each other now except when they are in food courts or have a permit.

I do not think that this article would be a very credible source. This article is from 2011 and uses other sources from 2009. This article is very bias toward keeping the ban on fast food. The author of this article had his mindset on keeping this bill passed, he did not give the opposing side a chance. His goal was to get his side of the story to the people and not give the other side to the public. This information is accurate but it seems that the author used his words to bend the truth into his favor.

Although this article is very bias I think I could use this in my essay. It fits into the topic of government control very easily. This article only gives one perspective on the topic but it is very persuasive so I believe I could use this in my essay, that way I will not be so bias and actually give the opposing side a chance to give their opinion on the matter.

"Smoking Ban." Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 04 Sept. 2013. Web. 10 Apr. 2013.

It is hard to find a place in the United States that will let you smoke in public now a days. This article explains why there are smoking bans set in place, the history of smoking bans, and also medical reasons why people should not be allowed to smoke near anyone that is a non-smoker do to second hand smoke. This article also shows other countries that have bans on smoking and the effects that it has had in their country.

This article does not appear to be bias in any way, it seems to be more informational. It does not come rate out and say anything about government control but it definitely could be a topic that could be used in the government control debate. The goal of this article is to be inform the public and aware them of what is going on in their country. I think that I would use this article in my paper as supporting evidence on government control.

I would only use this essay as supporting evidence to a different article about banning smoking.

Although this is a very informative paper I believe that this article would better suite as a backup for an article that better fits the topic at hand. I don’t think I could base a part of my essay on this article, it does not give enough arguable evidence it is more of a straight forward here are the facts kind of article that I would not be able to use as a main topic in my paper. I could use it as supporting evidence though in the overall topic of government control when I found a better article to compare with.
