Dans mon petit sac
Dear Parents:
Each student will receive a small paper bag to decorate and present next week. Students can decorate bags using words and pictures to represent
themselves (i.e. their hobbies, families, etc.). They also need to choose three items to put in the bag and bring to school on their day. These need to be
items that they feel comfortable talking about and that will survive a day in a backpack (so nothing that is living!). Students are going to present these items
in French. Each presentation is to be a very quick explanation of each item and its importance to the student (2 minutes maximum). Other students will ask
questions. Please help your child by listening to his or her presentation and asking practice questions. Students will be evaluated as outlined in the rubric
below. This activity is an introductory one that is meant to help build skills as well as confidence while presenting and actively listening. Please encourage
your child to use familiar vocabulary and simple sentences when practicing. Students will be given class time to brainstorm which items they’d like to bring
and practice speaking in French with a partner. Presentations will begin the week of the 21st, following the schedule outlined below. I am giving you
advanced notice as it is our first presentation of the year; please return this page in your child’s agenda so that they can refer to the schedule and rubric
when practicing. When agendas arrive, students will make note of their presentation dates. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the
school or to write a note in your child’s agenda.
Merci,
Mlle Tanaszczuk
