Unit Goal: The student will be able to understand and identify the different types of family structures and be able to recognize which category their own family is under. Objectives: 1. 2. 3. 4. The student will interview a parent or parents about who is his or her family tree. The student will write/ draw an outline of what their family tree looks like. The student will be able to give four examples of who could be apart of an extended family. The student will need to create his or her family tree with an online template, print it, and bring it to class as their final copy. Formative Assessment Students will be able to understand definition of extended families and give four examples. Summative Assessment The students will present their My Family Tree projects to a small group of peers. Final printed product of My Family Tree turned in at the end of the lesson.
