hi aslans! wow. its reg again. parang noong isang taon ko lang sinulat itong email na ito ah (actually, noon ngang isang taon ko lang siya ginawa. hehe). Important Note: This is the same email as last year. Im sending it out sa asla egroups again kasi i hear madami na naman nagtatanong ng teacher reco. :). I didnt add anything below, kasi well... medyo tinatamad na ako iupdate... and thats why i wrote it extensively na last year. So forgive me kung may mistakes / obsolete information. pa-correct na lang mga friends. :) hehe. And to anyone else na gusto magrecommend ng teachers... just reply to the email and add to the conversation! :). Ingat mga friends! Sa mga seniors... goodluck!!! Sa mga hindi seniors... maging masaya. :D *Adri* P.S. Paki-pass na rin sa ASLA 4 egroups. They might find these info useful. Teacher Recommendations (by Adri -- sorry kung biased. :D. no choice eh. kawang-gawa lang to. hahaha. biased talaga) PHILOSOPHY PH 101 / 102 I wont write my recommendations for ph 101/102 teachers here. the reason is because \ each philo teacher has a different track, a different prespective, a different position on philosophy. it's unfair to compare teachers who teach philosophy uniquely from one another. so instead of giving recommendations, i am typing The Student's Guide to the Philosophy of the Human Person handed out by the Philo Dept. a year ago. it profiles all the philo teachers for 101/102, what they teach, and what they specialize. il send this "guide" file maybe tomorrow morning. =) PH 103 PJ Strebel -- best teacher of the lot. biased opinion ito, because he was mine and patch's teacher for ph101/102. we call him "the next biggest rising thing in the philo dept." he has a brilliant mind, has great respect for his students, makes philo understandable to his students, and has a great christmas party. aside from that, he has one great christmas party that he throws for all his students. if that's not enough, he's a rocker! a real rocker, who has his own band! how cool is that! grade range: he's A-able, if you work really hard. but even if you dont get an A, you can learn a lot. a whole lot. Jovino Miroy -- next best option, in my opinion. he was my teacher for ph103. he has minimum requirements -- two papers, one test, and one orals - that's it. he also has a brilliant mind. patch and i had him for ph103. but the only problem with him is he tends to get absorbed too much in his lessons. minsan, di na namin naiintindihan sinasabi niya. but if you guys have good hearing and can follow a lecture from start to end, i recommend to get him. grade range: gives A only if you deserve it, but gives a minimum of C+ in the end. Dr. Gus Rodriguez -- third best option, in my opinion. this guy is one FUN-NY teacher. i know him from outside the classroom, and he's one really nice teacher. he has previous connections with sanggu, and is socially "active" in NGOs and such. in terms of teaching, he mixes humor, a good lesson, and some stories about his dog! the only downside is that he sometimes gets lost in teaching... then he starts na mag tsismis lang sa class instead of teaching. and malabo siya minsan... sa sobrang quirky... hindi mo na alam kung may point siya. pero super siya mabait and madali kausap. :) grade range: he rarely gives As. but they say, easy B / B+, if you work HARD. Rowie Azada , Miguel de Jesus, Tomas Rosario, Albert Lagliva -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the philo dept for a long time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. also, personally, ive heard rowie azada is nice and mabait to students. and she teaches better than the other three. but they're not philosophy "institutions and masters" like Gus, Strebel, and Miroy are. grade range: anything goes. pwede i-A. pwede rin i-D. Fr. Noris Seenivasan -- i dont know anything about this teacher. brand new teacher ito. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teacher. PH 104 -- Philosophy of Ethics Fr. Nemesio Que -- the best PH104 teacher out there! the best!!! patch took him. my only regret was i couldnt get him too. he's soooo nice. he's an institution of a teacher - not just in philo, but also as director of asmu admissions. he's very very very mabait to students. he knows all his students by name, and tries to be cordial with them even outside the classroom. he also teaches philo of ethics like no one else does. he teaches it with such sense and such easy understanding. first class! grade range: A-eable. and easy B if you study for his class. Dr. Manuel Dy -- another institution of teaching in philosophy. though old, he really knows a lot and he is very kind to students. he gives very good grades, and has written a lot of philo books. if you want a teacher you can learn from very much, aside from fr.que, go for manny dy. second best choice. grade range: easy B+ if you work hard and submit your papers. gives As substantially. Ramon Reyes -- same as dr.dy. he is an institution in philo already. he wrote books on ethics na rin. and he's very very very nice also to students. though he seems strict, friends tell me na he just does it so his students learn a lot in his class. he gets my third best vote for this subject. Rainier Ibana -- i had him for this subject. good side is, he usually handles a big class - so recitation isnt a problem. and sobra minimum requirements - one test, one paper, one orals. and he's the chair of the philo dept, so he does know his philosophy very much. downside is he is extremely boring and... boring. i suggest you take him only if you'd rather learn by reading versus by listening in class. fourth best for me. grade range: easy B+. promise. basta you know your philo, and hindi ka kabahan sa finals. Mike Mariano, Ranilo Hermida , Remmon Barbaza -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the philo dept for a long time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. but they're not philosophy "institutions and masters" like Ibana, Que, Reyes, and Dy are. grade range: anything goes. pwede i-A. pwede rin i-D. Fr. Luis David -- depends really. he gets my LOWEST recommendation. why? he's strict, gives a lot of readings, gets angry at students, has a lot of requirements and papers, makes you work more than necessary, and rarely if ever, gives A's. the only upside is people say he has a brilliant mind, albeit a very stubborn and proud one. only take him if you are up to a very tough challenge. THEOLOGY TH 121 - Introduction to Theology Harvey Keh -- best to ask Pam or Anj P.or JB about this teacher, because had him for last year in th121. frankly, he's a very good teacher. he was connected with OSA before, and he easily connects theology to real life for you. he was one of the potential ASLA speakers last year. He's also nice to students. he's good -- he was the one who started ANI and Pathways, froma simple class idea. Swerte yung makakakuha sa kanya . top choice, if ever you have a choice. Crisostomo Rosar -- though some people say he is strict, my friends tell me he really is very concerned with his students a lot. he gets my second vote after Harvey Keh. he gives fair grades naman raw. Lucia Natividad -- i dont know much about this teacher , but what i know is that he's not just "one of the teachers." he has written some papers on theo already, and is more knowledgeable about the subject than the average teacher. Edilberto Jimenez , Gemma Yecla -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the theo dept for a some time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. but they're not philosophy "institutions and masters" like those above. grade range: anything goes. pwede i-A. pwede rin i-D. Randy Flores, Mary Durano, Jesus Dacillo -- i dont know anything about these teachers. brand new teachers ito. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. TH 131 - Marriage, ek-ek Fr. Adolfo Dacanay -- tinatanong pa ba to?!?!? super galing. super smart. super jesuit. kung bumilib kayo kina fr.ben and fr.huang, bibilib kayo dito. One of the super jesuits that i've been priveledged to know and have as teacher. The horror stories about him are true. But there is more to that -- sa kanya lang kayo mabibilib sa theo. You will never forget any of his lectures, because memorable talaga. Filled with real life iscoofs and examples that will make you laugh. Yes, mapapaaral ka, but you will feel na you WANT to study, kasi ang galing ng turo. -- "A" able siya friends. Just borrow patch's notes, and my note cards for the oral exams. . Angelita Cancio -- i dont know anything about this teacher. brand new teacher ito. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teacher. TH 141 - Liberation Theology (Theology of a Catholic Social Vision) Bobby Guevara -- hello? best teacher out there ever!!! for theo, or for anything else. why? very very very nice to students. the nicest teacher out there. he cares for his students well outside the classroom. he knows your name, tries to greet you on the corridors, and acts like a "second father" to you in school. patch had him for th141. he even calls bobby guev - "father god" - because of his overall... well, holiness. he is knowleadgeable about his subject -- and he immerses you well in the praxis of the subject, well beyond the readings. and he can read the torah! how cool is that? grade range: he has high standards, kaya i-A, but with some effort. but worth it. you learn a lot. he's the equivalent of dacanay. :D BEST CHOICE! Jim Acevedo -- he was a speaker during asla batch 1. he teaches very good, and is second best option to bobby guev. he is connected with NGOs and social institutions, so may connection yung class lessons niya to real life. very real examples are used. Fr. Pascuale Giordano, Mr. Manuel Tejido -- i dont know much about these teachers, but what i know is that they're not just "one of the teachers." they have written some papers on theo already, and are more knowledgeable about the subject than the average teacher. i heard also that Tejido is very strict with his class. TH 151 - Theology of a Catholic Commitment Rafael Dy-Liacco -- best teacher, given the limited options so far. i didnt take him, but i heard he is a fair enough teacher. Fr. James Meehan -- i dont know much about him, but he has to be BETTER than the next two options. Victoria Parco -- NEVER Parco. NEVER EVER EVER. she's strict, gives a lot of readings, gets angry at students, has a lot of requirements and papers, makes you work more than necessary, and never gives A's, as far as i know. very typical old teacher. even fellow theo teachers i know warned me not to take her. grade range: mataas na B. you will usually get a D. Fr. Joseph Roche -- ah. unfortunately, i took fr.roche on the challenge of taking on an institution as a teacher . was i EVER wrong. okay fine, he's an institution - a man born with an undying passion for theology. but thats where the good news ends. he's VERY moody, gets angry at his class everyday, very hard, lots of requirements, mahirap magets ang lesson, jumps from point to point, gets lost in thought while teaching in class. grade range: you can actually get an A, surprisingly. i got a B+. and i maxed out my cuts. in short, kaya siya, if you know where to make the right efforts and where to slack off. but he is a VERY TOUGH challenge. HISTORY HI 16 -- Asian History m y opinion is, there is no difference between any of the history16 teachers. no one among them sticks out (whether in a positive or negative way) to be mentioned from the rest. any teacher is as good or as bad as the next, IMHO. HI 18 -- Western History Jose Tirol -- best hi18 teacher. if you can transfer to his class, please do. he tries to bond with his students, he is very insightful in history, and he is recognized all around as a cool teacher. they also say the grades he gives is not bad at all. David Lozada III -- the second best choice. mabait, malapit sa students kasi bata pa, palatawa, galante magbigay ng grade, and may alam. veyr informative and HINDI boring ang history approach niya. HI 165 -- Ancient(?) Philippine History up to Rizal David Lozada -- the BEST choice. mabait, malapit sa students kasi bata pa, palatawa, galante magbigay ng grade, and may alam. veyr informative and HINDI boring ang history approach niya. Ambeth Ocampo -- the second BEST choice, for those up to a challenge. magaling! this teacher is an institution upon himself. Super creative ang approach to history. And this teacher is a well recognized historian accross the philippines. Pero T-O-U-GH. How tough? May policy siya sa class... cancel the HIGHEST exam! you be the judge. Fr. Jose Cruz -- only take him if you're up to learning from an "institution" of a teacher. i think he's the dean of SOSS, so that should be enough reason to vouch for his credibility. though i have no feedback on his teaching style. Severo Madrona -- Madrona has potential. I had him for HI 165. And sure, the stories are true, marami siyang readings. But dont feel compelled or required to read them. Just get to know the gist of the readings. Then participate actively in class. Build-up kayo ng good "reputation" at the start of the sem. Basta start off on him with good impressions. Tapos kahit slack off na lang kayo at the end -- sure"A" yon. Kaya bolahin ang mga exam niya, basta may alam kayo sa sense ng history. But seriously, may matututunan kayo sa kanya. Habana -- the typical history teacher. kaya i-A or B+ ito. friends say she teaches unconventionally, and makes learning history a bit interesting. but still, she's nothing compared to the options above. but she is better than the average history teacher, mind you. Antonia Santos , Filomeno Aguilar -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the history dept for a long time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. but they're not history "institutions and masters" like the previous ones are. grade range: anything goes. pwede i-A. pwede rin i-D. Jose Angeles, Nevile Manaois -- i dont know anything about these teachers. brand new teachers ito. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. Fr. Arcilla -- NEVER Fr. Arcilla. Ayaw ko na iexplain. Basta. He may be famous, but he lets it get to his head. Mayabang. Ma-pride. Biased. Andame readings. He adores himself too much. bleeeccchhh... HI 166 -- Philippine History from Rizal to EDSA Dr. Henry Totanes -- the best among the lot!!! seriously. the best historian in ateneo i know. he just came back from a Fullbright scholarship in the US, he was valedictorian of his batch in admu, he teaches history 166 like no one else does -- with lots of humor, lots of personal stories, lots of insight, and analysis. all those who have taken him want to sit in again in his class - especially during the session when he tries to dress as General McArthur and does a rendition of his "I Shall Return" speech. Super funny, and mabait. I was fortunate to have him as my teacher . grade range: A-eable. and easy B if you do study. Severo Madrona -- he's the second best among the lot. Francis Gealogo -- for those up to a MORE challenging history, go for Gealogo. Unfortunately, for seniors lang ata siya. Downside is he teaches in a boring way, and a lot of people sleep in his class because of it. Josefina Hofilena, Antonia Santos , Patricia Dacudao, Cristina Hallare, and Felisa Tan -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the history dept for a long time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. but they're not history "institutions and masters" like the previous ones are. grade range: anything goes. pwede i-A. pwede rin i-D. POLITICS AND GOVERNANCE POL SCI 100 -- Politics and Governance Alma Salvador Ocampo -- ito ang teacher na magaling sa polsci. She teaches a mean course, as in. Sobrang out of the box lectures, and even if she makes you read a lot, you really dont have to, as long as you get the point. Just participate actively in class... she considers that more than being prepared for class, pero tahimik ka naman. Super galing! This is the next Benjamin Tolosa (me thinks). And in fairness, she does catwalks on the middle of the aisle in class when she wants to make a point during her lectures. And "A"-ble siya. I got away with a very good grade sa kanya even if i read only half the readings. for those up to a challenge, and a real polsci learning experience, do get her! you will love her trip to congress! best choice! Maita Sayo -- second best choice. MABAIT sobra! JQ and I know her personally. She's fresh from grad. Batchmate ata ito ni JQ eh. She worked with Sanggu as Athletics Council Chair before. Mabait, pero magaling din. Very very malapitin sa mga students. Aalagaan ka niya. You will get a good grade if masipag ka, and she sees you put the effort. for those avoiding challenges, she teaches good pol sci, and is very very considerate sa grades. Jaime Lao -- okay naman. third best for me. She's like another version of Ocampo. Best friends nga ata sila eh. But her lectures are pretty straightforward, and baka ma-bore ang iba sa inyo. Ricardo Sunga III -- okay naman. fourth best for me. manageable class niya, and he's fair enough with grades. But his lectures are pretty straightforward, and baka ma-bore ang iba sa inyo. Millard Lim -- a good teacher, so they say. Pero medyo theories based siya, so baka boring for some. But a brilliant mind nonetheless. Jeniffer Oreta, Matthew Santamaria, Ma. Lourdes Rallonza, Edmund Ramos , Erika Lorenzana, Katrina Borja , Ivan Claudio, and Jose Banayad -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. LAW AND MARKETING LAW 11 -- Essentials of Philippine Business Law Gilberto Lauengco -- best teacher of LAW11! he is an actual local government official, as far as i recall. he teaches law very well -- focussing on real life examples instead of just the textbook. he also puts in a lot of REAL examples from real life on how the law is actually used and practiced. and he doesnt hesitate to show you the ugly side of the law - how you cna use the law to your own advantage. its a real learning experience. swerte kayo if you got him. Reginald Nolido, Sedfrey Santiago, Eduardo Valdez, and Catherine Gonzales -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. MKTG 101 or 102 -- basta, MARKETING! Rodolfo Ang -- the one! the only! super brilliant mind ito. I took (well, required) him as MKTG 102, and he was the best. While the other teachers stayed on basic levels of thought, he challenged his class to think of more logical, more simpler, and in the end, more practical marketing ideas. Sa class niya, mas mabigat ang application kaysa concepts. His motto: if you cannot apply it in real life, it's useless. Super galing ng utak nito. As in mamamangha na lang kayo -- syet! makes sense. He's the CHALLENGE teacher for this subject. Do take him. Hindi heavy ang load niya, and he is actually funny. So there. Just be sure to be in proper dress code. And "A"-able tong si rudy ang... trust me. top choice! Richard "Dickie" Soriano -- this guy is AS GOOD as rudy ang. If i had to choose between them kung sino irerecommend ko, id go bonkers sa kakaisip. Iba ang style niya from Rudy -- more creative, more out-of-the-box -- yet in the end, super practical, super brilliant, super galing! He's a billionaire (i think). He drives at least 3 BMWs (tatlo na yung nakita namin sa kanya eh...), plus he's THAT good. His class will be a blast, kasi puro practical applications. A plus side sa kanya... mas "A"-able siya kay Rudy. Better to have him as teacher, than as panelist. This guy GRILLS any team to the ground pag siya naging marketing panelist ninyo. Ask tracy, she'll say the same thing -- she had him for marketing last year. diba tracy? Enrico Osi, Pia Arellano, Cynthia Henson -- i dont know these teachers, but they've taught at the marketing dept for a long time now, so i beleive they have enough experience. but they're not marketing geniuses like the previous ones are. also, cynthia henson is the best in this group - since she teaches a lot of other marketing subjects. Anna Mendiola -- NEVER Pindy Mendiola. Biased siya. Mataray siya. Mayabang siya. Feeling siya. Just ask our ate roque. She will testify to this. QUANTITATIVE METHODS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY QMT 11 -- Busines Statistics Rodolfo Ang -- the one! the only! super brilliant mind ito. I took (well, required) him in QMT 11, and he was the best. While the other teachers stayed on basic levels of thought, he challenged his class to think of more logical, more simpler, and in the end, more practical ways of solving the problems. And "A"-able tong si rudy ang... trust me. He teaches business statistics like no one else does. problem is, i think closed itong class niya just for BMHers. but you can try to sit in. :D top choice! GJ Jumamil -- second best choice. he's an aslan!!! hahaha. mabait ito and a fresh grad from two years ago. good friend namin ni patch. we feel he;s a good teacher naman, and he'll try to help you as much as he can. Richard Pilar, Maritess Khanser -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. POM or OPMAN 102 / 104 Michael "Mike" Tan -- super yang si Sir Mike. One of the students type of teacher yan. Manlilibre pa yan sa restaurant for the entire class pag malapit na ang pasko. But he really is the BEST teacher to get. Super galante and mabait magbigay ng grades. Super magaling magturo -- he brings down the opman (numbers!) concepts down to the level of pure common sense. sobra astig and magaling. madali rin kausap after class. kung kelangan mo maghabol ng grade, he will give you opportunities to do so. Sobra siya. Mas kampi pa yan sa students kaysa sa kapwa teachers eh. And he makes you take home long exams, instead of in-class. perfect mix of learning, and an "A"able teacher. Palatawa pa! BEST TEACHER for this subject. Richard Pilar, Brigida Octavio -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. Electives ITM 122 - Gaming and Management Games by Vicente Reventar III -- a fairly EASY elective. trust me! i took it before, and all we did was meet every saturday for class... and play computer games. not the usual ones, but management-related games... like Capitalism II, and som excel based games. very enjoyable, super light load subject, and easy A. just always have your group win everytime. hahaha. FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING ACC 10 Venus Ibarra -- need i say more? this is the institution in accounting. legends have already been made and circulated about her. hahaha! but seriously, she's the BEST teacher for accounting. mas maiintindihan ninyo ang accounting if you study it under her rather than some other teacher. and contrary to legend and popular opinion -- though she may seems strict and harsh... she's a real softie inside. promise. i've seen her softer side. and i've laughed. nanay to in the inside. my TOP recommendation for accounting. if you cant get her, then try to sit in her classes. she encourages it! you will see your ACC test scores improve. grade range: sadly, highest na siguro ang B or a rare B+. but then again, no other teacher gives a grade higher than B+ naman sa accounting. haha Vicky Choa -- second best recommendation. not as great as ibarra, but she can be clear naman when teaching. grade range: sadly, highest na siguro ang B or a rare B+. but then again, no other teacher gives a grade higher than B+ naman sa accounting. haha William Baltazar, Jaime Senir, Myrfi Gonzales -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. but seriously, i think baguhan itong mga teachers na ito. and well mahirap kumuha ng baguhan sa accounting. ACC 15 Jill Paterno -- she's a personal friend of mine. and i can vouch that she IS the kindest accounting teacher in ACC 15. as in super bait nito. fresh grad from three years ago. she tries her best to help all her students in accounting -- she knows naman kasi the feeling of going through accounting eh. she gives you the grade you deserve. plus, she tries to help out students even in her free time. to all taking ACC15, please try to get her as your teacher. top choice! Ricardo "Lec" Sacramento -- though i never had him as a teacher, i've heard some negative feedback. he can be a bit choosy raw with students, and sometimes practices favoritism. medyo moody rin siya - which means he can compromise his teaching with how he personally feels about a class. second best lang to for me. Leah Babasa -- i dont know anything about this teacher. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. ACC 101 -- Cost Accounting Maurice Lim -- SUPER BAD CHOICE! biased. boring teaching style. long recitation time. hindi nakikirelate sa students. mahirap kausap after class. walang pakialam kung babagsak ka na or hindi. basta... super bad choice. But ang problem lang, si Maurice ang gumagawa ng exams eh. and i think this time, siya lang ang teacher, bad trip. FIN 103 Michael "Mike" Tan -- Best choice, for the same reasons above. He will GUIDE you to the answers to the long exams. Hindi niya kayo papabayaan. Just read what i wrote above. Though Mike Tan will "leak" some coverage to his own students. LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY LS10 / LS 11 m y opinion is, there is no difference between any of the LS10/11 teachers. no one among them sticks out (whether in a positive or negative way) to be mentioned from the rest. any teacher is as good or as bad as the next, IMHO. something to take note lang -- JJ Agtarap is also the Registrar of admu. wala lang, little trivia in case you want to take him as your teacher. LS 100 Manolet Siojo -- for one, lalake siya, okay? but he is the best teacher for LS 100. sobra light load. one final group project and presentation (on a FILM nonetheless), and two 35-point objective exams. Yun lang. Sobra dali i B+ or B. He doesnt give lower than a B. But dahil konti lang ang requirements, mahirap i-"A" kasi konti lang ang chances to excel. But sobra galing pa rin. A very practical teacher. And funny also. I suggest you take him. He recycles exams pala. I can lend you my exam. Fr. Candelaria -- for those up to a CHALLENGE, i suggest you take Fr.Candi. Very heavy load -- may ipapabasa pa siya na two or three more books beyond what is normally required. But super benta yung books -- like who moved my chees and following your heart. Madami kayo matututunan sa kanya. But very heavy ang load -- may reflection paper every week, and lots of paperwork. But worth it raw. He's pretty old na -- as old as Fr.Ferriols ata. Pero good teacher pa rin. second best option. Gabby Lopez -- somewhere in between Mr.Siojo and Fr.Candi. Not the best, but may substance pa rin. And may sense naman ang grading system. third best option. Maritess Khanser, Lilian Avecilla , Josie Banaglorioso, Emmanuel De Leon, and Sheriben Paraguas -- i dont know anything about these teachers. take the risk na lang kung ayaw ninyo sa mga naunang teachers. but seriously, i think baguhan itong mga teachers na ito. LS 126 m y opinion is, there is no difference between any of the LS126 teachers. no one among them sticks out (whether in a positive or negative way) to be mentioned from the rest. any teacher is as good or as bad as the next, IMHO. but i shall discuss below their quirks and their weirdnesses, plus any disadvantages or advantages. in my opinion, the success of your LS 126/127 will depend more on your business idea and less on the teacher. in short, none of these teachers are any help at all. Carmelo Lopez -- sleeps in some of your class presentations. is very nice to students and has good business background. but he is a very boring teacher. but a very very nice and kind one. wala favoritism to. super fair teacher Art Valencia -- sometimes plays favorites in class. watch out. unconventional magutro -- brings videos and cases to study in class. but really, wala flow yung lessons niya. and he tends to get lost in between discussions. pero the upside is... madali siya bolahin in papers and in tests. gives good grades. George Pimentel -- people say he teaches in a weird manner. but apparently, he has good track record. most of his students always gets a good grade (B or above) in their defense of LS 126 or 127. coincidence perhaps? i really don't know. Nathaniel Lim, Fructuoso Sabug -- your typical LS teacher . boring and straightforward. no help at all. Terry Galura -- NO! not her. not at all. i have friends who attest that she is the most biased and most "bastos" teacher in LS. if she doesn't like your idea, she'll throw it in your face and humiliate you. try to avoid her, at all costs. Renato Garcia -- i dont know this guy. new teacher, probably. Electives LS 130 - Leadership in the 21st Century by Joseph Server -- I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU TAKE THIS CLASS. This will feel like an extension of your asla days. promise. i took this class and learned so much more about leadership. this isnt too much based on readings, but more based on sharings and personal experiences of the members of the class. the teacher is a bit quirky and weird sometimes -- pero he always makes a good point. to all aslans, please try to take this subject. its an easy B/B+. and he gives A's also. no substantial class requirements -- just be on time every session, one group report, plus be open to learning about leadership. he teaches not just about leadership in business. actually, his classes sound more like leadership all around -- servant leadership, heroic ;eadership, leadership challenge, etc... the best elective i can recommend. LS 139 - Business Ethics and Social Responsibility by Fr.Que, and Dr.Angeles -- second best LS elective i recommend. i was part of the pilot class for this last year. you can never have a more powerful team teaching than Fr.Que of OAA and Dr.Angeles (the VP for academic affairs of admu). They are a brilliant set of minds. Plus, super practical ang approaches nila to business ethics. grade range: A-eable if you listen and work hard, but average grades are B and C+. LS 101 - Organizational Communication by Richard Soriano -- i recommend this elective for the reason that it teaches you how to write and speak in a practical way. this isnt teaching english, this is teaching practical english . he teaches you how to write business letters, how to write NO letters, how to apply for a job, how to write a resume, how to go through interviews, how to sell an idea, how to market an idea, how to speak in public, how to write excellently, and so on. super practical subject. and he's the same brilliant "Dickie Soriano" i mentioned earlier. grade range: A-eable siya. promise. lowest grade he gives is a B. LS 128 - Small Business Consulting by Carlos Cabochan -- an elective i recommend also, because he teaches how to apply everything you learned in business to a consultancy type of work. he makes you really work at a consultancy account / handson case with a real business with real business consequences throughout the semester. plus, he just has one requirement -- a final paper, by group. And he always gives an "A" to ALL HIS STUDENTS. :D ====== hay. humaba na talaga. yun muna for now. keep this list a secret, baka balikan ako nung mga teachers dito na hindi ko nasabihan ng maayos. hehehe thats it for now. mahaba na. till the next email, where i will send the " Student's Guide to the Philosophy of the Human Person." exhausted from typing, *adri*
