Cells get their energy from food.
The energy is released from the food by a
process called respiration.
In respiration glucose is combined with
oxygen to release energy.
Carbon dioxide and water are formed.
This happens inside the mitochondria of the
cell.

Disadvantages of it:
 Less efficient than aerobic respiration
 Doesn’t produce as much energy as aerobic
respiration.




It respires anaerobically.
It breaks down sugar to alcohol.
