Hosting the B08 HFCC/ASBU Moscow 2008 Conference
the General Radio Frequency Centre has managed to
meet all principal HFCC Conference Requirements
adopted and updated by HFCC Secretariat:
1. Adequate number of rooms with sufficient floorspace
(totally more than 600 sq. m.) are available to provide
efficient work of the Conference’s participants;
Conference room – 504 sq. m.; Administrative secretariat
– 40 sq. m.; Data processing room – 20 sq. m.; Meeting
room – 56 sq. m.
2. All rooms have all necessary hardware and equipment
with enough stationery and office supplies;
3. Required network connections are ensured;
permanent administrative and computer assistance is
available.

Visas: All the visitors require visas. Visas must be obtained in
advance and are NOT sold at the airport upon your arrival. A
passport valid for 6 months beyond your intended stay is
required.
! Please note Russian Consulate accepts only official visa
support letter which is different from an invitation of the
Organizing Committee. The whole procedure may take you
more than 7 weeks to get your Russian visa ready!

the Domodedovo International Airport is about 50 kilometres from
the hotel.

Moscow airport with nameboard.

Moscow - the capital of the Russian Federation and
one of the country’s most popular destinations for foreign
visitors.
Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world. Moscow
has grown rapidly over the past decades, and, as a
result, comprises high-rise suburbs surrounding a
relatively compact historical centre with fascinating
ancient architecture.

Climate: average temperature in winter -10 -15 C, spring 0 +10 C,
summer +18 +24 C, autumn +10 C.
Time: GMT + 4 during summer time for both Moscow and St
Petersburg.
National Language: Russian. English, French or German are spoken
by some people.
Religion: Mainly Christian with the Russian Orthodox Church being the
largest Christian community. Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish minorities
also exist.
Currency: Russian Rouble (RUB). Almost all the restaurants/shops will
accept major credit cards.

Electricity: 220 volts AC, 50Hz. The plug is two-pin thin European

Getting around: There are nine railway stations and five airports. Inside
the city, the most reliable way of travelling is by metro which stations are
close to all the major sights. Moscow has also buses, trams and trolleybuses in service. Taxis can be found in any part of Moscow.
Taxis: Like elsewhere in Russia, avoid gypsy cabs by phoning ahead for
a taxi or asking your hotel to arrange one for you. If you arrive at Moscow
airport, you will see a number of drivers clamouring for your business. It's
better to go outside and line up at the taxi queue, where regulated taxis
can be found.
Crime and security: The only concern for a tourist has to be petty crime.
Water: Water quality varies in Russia. Buy drinking water in bottles, and
do not drink tap water.
