My High School Experience In my opinion high school was a learning experience. This is because I had to figure things out on my own. Freshman year I was so inexperienced. I really did not know much about anything. I participated in football, and I decided to try wrestling. I was successful in both sports. I started to date a girl named Jaime, which was really cool because she drove a brand new car and could pick me up. When I started my sophomore year I was starting to figure things out. I continued to participate in football and wrestling. I made the varsity wrestling team. Jaime and I had broken up, but I was not single for long and soon started to date Jenny. She was my high school sweetheart. Junior year was a difficult year for me. I was now on varsity football and wrestling. One problem I faced was making weight in wrestling. I had to wrestle at 145lbs. to be on varsity. That caused me to lose a significant amount of weight and maintain the weight loss, which was unhealthy, but I didn’t want to be on junior varsity so I made the sacrifice and lost the weight. My team respected me more for making such a sacrifice. Unfortunately, I broke my right hand in wrestling practice that year which shattered my dreams of qualifying for the high school state tournament, and Jenny and I were not getting along. In my senior year I was ready to graduate. I continued to participate in football and wrestling and I ended up being the captain of both teams. I achieved my goal and qualified for the high school state tournament in wrestling, which allowed me to participate in the state tournament at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. That was awesome. I went to Cancun, Mexico for spring break. When I arrived home from spring break my brother picked me up from the airport, but my dad was suppose to pick me up. My brother informed me on the ride home that my dad had died while I was in Cancun, and that in a few short hours I would have to attend his wake. When Jenny arrived at the wake I broke down and started sobbing. She was there for me when I needed her, but the relationship was already over and we both knew it. I ended up taking my friend Sarah to the prom. After high school I plan on attending Lincoln College, and wrestling for my two years at the collegiate level. I will earn my Associates Degree, and transfer to a four-year University. I am not sure what my major will be in college, but I am thinking about a business major. Most of the adults in my family on my dad’s side are teachers so education is also a possibility. There are no limits to what I can accomplish. I know I will be successful.
