Under-13 Lady Taverners
A superb 62 not out from Aston Rowant opener Rowena Hearn was not enough to beat Charlbury in
the Lady Taverners T20 knock-out. After being inserted, Charlbury openers Georgia Brown and
Miranda Edwards were able to establish an excellent opening stand of 86, before Edwards was run
out by some smart fielding by Mia Venner for a personal best 39 runs. As Charlbury looked to up the
run rate, Georgia Brown was bowled by a brilliant middle stump Yorker from Hearn for a well
constructed 39 runs, before Mara Smith and Esme Newton-Grain closed the innings, with
Charlbury posting 118 for 2. The hosts responded well to this daunting target and finished on a
creditable 87 for 3, Hearn’s well judged knock including 9 fours.
Under-15 Lady Taverners
Oxford Downs travelled to Bristol to play Frenchay and after winning the toss and elected to field.
Some tight bowling restricted the hosts to 96 for 4, despite an impressive 40 not out from Katy
Baker, Deanna Stamp picking up two wickets. In Downs’ reply, Stamp and Ellie Wilson put on 19 for
the first two overs, but then Frenchay brought on slow bowler Emily Locke, who quickly turned the
game around for the host team. Downs were dismissed for 47 in the twelfth over, Locke finishing
with 4 wickets for just 4 runs.
Unbeaten half centuries from Emily Ong and Lucy Hunter backed up by 46 from Charlotte Boland
saw Banbury to an impressive 186 for 1 at Aston Rowant. The hosts then lost two wickets to Sophie
Mitchelmore who took two wickets in her first two overs and with all the bowlers performing well
including Amy Freeman with a wicket maiden they were all out in 12 overs for 44. Holly Senior topscored with 15 and Ong finished with 3 for 3.
Under-15 League
Oxford Downs also slipped to defeat in the league, this time at the hands of Freeland. After electing
to bat, Freeland made 87 for 4 thanks to Rebecca Woodnorth and Lucy Grain who each made an
unbeaten 25. In reply, Oxford Downs were bowled out for 54. Megan Lovick was the pick of the
Freeland bowlers with 3 for 8, Immy Fraser and Frankie Penton chipping in with a wicket apiece.

Under-15 Competition
In League A there was a thrilling game at Shipton where the hosts batted first and despite having
wickets in hand struggled to accelerate their rate thanks to a spirited fielding performance from
visitors Chipping Norton, with a fine display of wicket keeping by under-13 Morgan Stevens. A
patient 49 not out from Harry Davies was the highlight of the innings. Chipping Norton’s reply got off
to a poor start, losing their top three cheaply before Danny Molyneux came in to steady the ship.
Despite the visitors continuing to lose wickets regularly including a remarkable diving catch
from Charlie Miller to dismiss Tom Pearce, Molyneux finally found a reliable partner in Morgan
Stevens and the pair saw the visitors home. Miller finished with 3 for 17.

on 41.
At Cumnor the hosts reached 144 for 4 with Alexander Sayeed 31, Oliver Gray 37 and Finn Pietersen
36 not out. The total proved just too much for Combe who managed 127 for 4.

Slade made 30 for Didcot and Tom Gould 39 for the visitors.
