We are providing many opportunities for our children that include Judo, Table tennis, Specialist coaching and we have so much more planned for the coming term including Tag Rugby from the Cornish Pirates and Surfing. I hope to have some news on the sports arena in the coming weeks. Diary Dates Spring Term start date-January 6th ‘Wake and Shake’ 0840. Christmas Present I have been able to secure a ‘Goblin Race Car’. The car is an eco-friendly race car where all the children from Cornish school’s race against each other at Newquay airfield in July. In the meantime the children will learn some basic engineering skills, stripping the car down and re-building it to race. I plan to display the car in the main entrance. I am so pleased to have secured the car and the amount of learning that our children will gain from their experiences will be immense. Reading with Dads Thank You A ‘HUGE’ Thank you to the Granddads, Dads, Uncles and Brothers who attended Friday’s reading session with their child. The event was well attended and as we strive to raise standards in our school it needs to be acknowledged that you’re all key players. Remember a child will only spend 15% of their childhood in school. Therefore, we also need you on board supporting and challenging your child further. Pre-School Learning Over the holiday period I will be looking at the progress made by all the children. I will identify some children who are not making as much progress as they should be. I will then be in touch about how we can work together to close any gaps. I would like to thank all of you who managed to complete the Parent View Survey for Ofsted. If you have yet to complete the survey, please visit Parent View/Ofsted. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Tregolls Academy Parents for providing support at all of the Christmas functions and with the Christmas activities, the Leading Parent Partnership group for all of their support with school improvement and of course all of the staff who have worked their socks off again to continue to raise standards this term. It just leaves me to say, have a Happy Christmas, but don’t forget to read with your child! Enjoy the break and I look forward to seeing you all on the 6th January 2014. Best wishes, Mr. M. Middlemore
