(yummy, yummy…) Kourabiedes RECIPE for VASSILOPITA by my grandmother Vassiliki In Greece we always cut vassilopita the last night of the year. The person who finds the coin is considered to be lucky for the whole year. You will need 1 cup butter, softened 2 cups white sugar 5 eggs 2 tablespoons water 2 teaspoons vanilla 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds 2 tablespoons sesame seeds Ingredients 500gr butter 1 cup powdered sugar A few blanched almonds Zest of orange 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 vanillas A little liqueur 1 kg flour 1 egg (optionally) ½ kg powdered sugar for dusting Process In a bowl, add the butter and the sugar and mix well. Add the remaining ingredients and continue stirring. When the dough is ready, spread on a smooth surface and Directions create many different designs.
