Collins Scholars Program Criteria: Recipients must participate in a program of community service approved by Baylor University for one semester during each academic year. They must also attend special seminars each semester as well as an annual dinner held in their honor. In addition, Collins Scholars must maintain a relation with Baylor and the Carr P. Collins Scholars Program by mentoring future scholarship recipients and illustrating the program’s positive results. Students must be unconditionally admitted to the University; be in the top quarter of their graduating class; have a minimum score of 1250 (combined Critical Reading and Math) on the SAT or a minimum score of 28 on the ACT; have completed a balanced college preparatory program including history, science and a foreign language; be a bona fide resident of the state of Texas. Davey O’Brien High School Scholarship Criteria: Applicant must be a senior in an accredited public or private high school in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Elli, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant or Wise County at the time of submission. Student must have a minimum score of 1800 on the SAT(math, reading, and verbal combined) or a minimum score of 27 on the ACT. The application will be returned to the school if this criteria is not met. Applicant must be participating in high school varsity sports. Only UIL, SPC, TAPPS, and TCAF varsity sports are eligible.
