INTRODUCTION TO LOCATION SCOUTING
NOVAC:BR is now accepting applications for Baton Rouge’s Introduction to Location Scouting,
a two-day film industry workforce training scheduled for December 13 -14, 9am – 4pm at
NOVAC:BR’s office at The Creative Bloc in downtown Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge Film
Industry Workforce Training Program is designed for Louisiana residents seeking immediate
employment and long-term careers in the growing local film industry. Accepted applicants will
be trained in the basics of how to become a supporting member of the Locations department of
a production. The course will be taught by a well-known Locations Manager familiar with both
the Baton Rouge and New Orleans industry. Instruction will be given on how the department
functions, paperwork, contracts, scouting and other responsibilities from prep, to production and
finally wrap.
Baton Rouge Introduction to Location Scouting is a competitive program with limited enrollment.
Interested applicants should submit a resume and completed application to
elizabeth@novacvideo.org (or via mail to NOVAC, 532 Louisa Street, New Orleans, LA
70117) by FRIDAY, DEC. 5 at 5pm. Upon receipt of your application and resume, NOVAC will
email you to schedule a 10-minute phone interview. Applicants will receive email notification of
their acceptance to the program on Wednesday, December 10th.

full – this is the last page of the application. NOVAC:BR is required to file this information
per our grant guidelines. Please report your personal income only. If you do not have an
income you will be asked to provide supporting documentation as proof. Students will be
asked to provide a copy of their student ID.**
Late or incomplete applications will not receive a phone interview. You must be a resident of

The Baton Rouge Film Industry Workforce Training Program is a NOVAC program developed
with support of the Mayor’s Office of Community Development in Baton Rouge. This program
is funded through a Community Development Block Grant, with the goal to create economic
opportunities for Baton Rouge residents.
