prophecy.

1st apparition warns Macbeth of Macduff

2nd apparition says Macbeth will not be
killed by a man born from a woman

3rd apparition says Macbeth is safe until the

Macbeth still not satisfied
› Asks if Banquo’s prophecy will be fulfilled

Witches warn against finding out more


Lennox tells Macbeth that Macduff has
fled to England.

Macbeth decides to send murderers to
kill Macduff’s wife and children.


NOT JUST to whoever happens to be on
Scotland’s throne.
Ross enters and speaks of the horrors
taking place in Scotland.
